UMK3 was great, but I think looking back, I’d give a slight edge towards MK2 for being my favourite MK.
I liked the story of MK9 a lot because it ran through MK1-3 (and 4 a little with the inclusion of Quan Chi). I wasn’t as big of a fan of the MKX story, but the characters and gameplay was better to me, and in reality that’s more important.
I’d like to see Shao Kahn return though. He’s the best MK boss, and actually, I think he’s the best boss in any fighting game period.
An antagonist that actually gets some victories. His success is ultmately what lead to events that forced Raiden to go back in time and reset the entire timeline.
This is factually correct. Shao Kahn is the best and most memorable fighting game boss of all time.
Like, I certainly don’t dislike Rugal but in the end he’s just a rich dude, and his best boss appearance was in a crossover game where he had akuma’s powers.
Aesthetically he’s a homerun in basically every way, and nobody got nothing on YOU WEAK, PATHETIC FOOL
I loved MK3 and KI back in the SNES days because those two games made me feel so god like with their dial a combos lol. The SF series was still my favorite by far but I felt so amazing the first time I did Jago’s and Orchid’s long loopy combo into Ultra and the SF games we had didn’t provide that(we didn’t have Alpha 2).
Now that I’m older and more aware of all these things long dial a combos are a joke to me. But for any 10-12 year old back in those days it had to have been really thrilling doing that stuff when all you ever did in the SF2 games was jump kick sweep lol.
