How is Sagat/Ryu 7/3?
Ryu can parry tiger shots all day and upclose he has the better normals.

Yeah he had his own more aggressive game plan for dealing with him, but I think playing around the v skill just gIves you more ways to kill him. That way you can either go for the big read with the jump in or get a 2 button punish from farther distances on reaction. Rather just go with something easy that immediately forces him to stop throwing shots. Especially since it builds you trigger.

Sagat jumping 4 times in a single round? Yeah, I’m not watching the rest of that, I saw all I needed to see.

Bonchan just played a long set against a GM Ryu player named Fujii. I didn’t keep track of the score but it seemed like it went pretty close to even.
I don’t see how Sagat dominates that match up either. Parry is actually decent in this match up and Ryu’s normals can compete with Sagat’s.

Just a quick correction: G’s Smash Under attack starts at -8 on block, goes to -6 at lvl 2 and then goes back to -8 at lvl 3/EX, so there’s a bit more room to punish it (unless he cancels into into his reg fireball midscreen while in VT1).
My bad, I gave that move far too much credit.
Eh. As fun as Sagat as, he struggles too much in too many matches vs common characters.
And honestly I cannot see him beating anyone relevant character wise. I will play him in casuals still. But ranked? Nah.
Back to Cammy.
Sagat steps all over Cody. That matchup is going to be his second worst after Guile.

Actually I think Abi is harder than zangief. Ive not played both enough, but Sagat can push what he wants against gief, against Abi not so much since he’s got that long ass cr.mp and his jump is harder to kara uppercut.
St.hk is beastly in both, in fact I think st.hk is just beastly in general .

For the record, my comment was just bait to get some opinions on the match ups, kinda glad Ryu can hold his own against Sagat.
Not sure about Ryu vs G though…and no experience with Sagat/Abi yet
Also MOV is still rockin’ Chun and is fighting top tier that didn’t win Evo Cammy
