SFV lounge: London we have a Problem X. SFV gave us the Burger King again

Anyone not named Eita

Knee into DP works better I find, it’s a Sakura esk gamble. Not that it should be a strategy, just that it works.

Anyone know all of G’s buffs at each presidentiality level?

They’re just buffs to his Specials.

At Level 2:
His Smashes give a bit more advantage, I believe they do a bit more damage as well. (also I think his Level 2 Under SMash becomes -4 rather than -6 on block)
His Command Grab allows for better juggles.
His Fireball now does two hits and leaves him safer on block.

At Level 3/EX:
Over Smash hits twice and Wallbounces, big damage.
Under Smash hits twice, but goes back to being -6 on block.
Spin Kick becomes Projectile Invulnerable, also -2 on Block, knocks down on hit.
Fireball becomes -2 on block, has a splash lava zone on the end that allows it to hit nearly full screen. Has…odd trading properties.
Command Grab does even more damage (juggle property about the same though I’d have to check how the EX CG works while under Level 2 Pres to be 100% sure).

Thanks. Going to mess around with him in training mode later, wanted a comprehensive list of everything.

Yeah I figured it was a sluggish start up button when I tried to combo it after jump buttons and if I was a hair late at hitting it it would get blocked. Which in this game if you can land an air heavy and are not able to just auto pilot into the next button, you’re definitely dealing with a slow button.

More Bonchan vs the Boxer of Japan.

Sagat’s DPs should all do 150 damage before angry scar and scarred up TU should do 180.

Don’t @ me.

Even Bonchan with the King can’t resist the allure of the -2 Mating Call.

He kept it in the pocket and used it the first time and the only time. It hits 100 percent the first time

I want to see another gdlk Sagat arise so I can see the mirror match SFV style…I want to see those Kara tiger shots in the middle of the zoning war and a kara super since that shit saved my life 2 times already

Lots of G players I fought have been doing random Flip Kick and Low Smashes in neutral. Low Smash is unsafe so you just have to be ready for the low but Flip Kick I find incredibly hard to deal with. It’s a bit similar to Birdie’s or Blanka’s dive command grabs in that the majority of startup is spend on the ground and the move travels quickly in the air. Even with Falke’s one-button AA I couldn’t stop it at 100%, let alone be ready for it when he doesn’t just throw it out in neutral. Blocking and punishing doesn’t work because it’s safe and pushes him back quite a bit. Definitely one of his strongest tools outside V-Trigger.

Then don’t try to punish it and just take the initiative. It’s ā€œsafeā€ but it’s also -5 (outside of EX/LVL3) combined with G’s slower normals. He doesn’t have any gimmicky -2 blowup so you always have the ability to take your turn after the Spin Kick.

Man the bison match for sagat is hell right now lol. Hopefully I find some shit.

On lower pres levels that’s certainly the go-to strategy but on higher levels you need every chance you can get to knock him down.

How do you feel about Sagat vs Necalli?

I was up 3-1 in a ft5 against one of the better local players before he said fuck it and went to Akuma.

The salt was real in that match up.

Like Saitsu said, at lower levels you might as well just hit buttons after blocking it. The flip kick is only useful vs people hitting buttons or as an an air. If you block it, it’s your turn and the only thing he can play is mash out super on the block stun if he uses EX/level3 press flip. Which is a big cost to get his turn back. If he’s at level 3 I say block it any way just because taking your turn back can lead to a frame trap to throw him or knock him down later any way.

Only time you really have to worry is when he’s in VT1. In VT1 he can cancel on block into his V Skill or other specials, but they all have gaps that you can usually just mash c.LP and get out of. None of it leads to true stuff.

If you’re that worried about blocking it you can always just EX PP if you have a meter. Her EX Schneide is one of the best anti yolo moves in the game. I use it to stop Cammy EX dives, reaction beat Blanka/Birdie hop command grabs and so on. Anything that can randomly fly at you from the air or forward at you you can use it to snipe it out, do solid damage/stun and get space.
