Q could end up being completely different. It’s like saying we won’t get Gill because Urien has a Gill costume.
Plus we have characters that are similar but coexisting in SFV.
I think what disqualifies that list is a lack of Rose as I think she is most definitely coming next season.

G doesn’t just have Q’s costume… he has his normals and his specials. Unless they rework Q completely it makes no sense to put a worse version of G in the game.
And as much as I would like it, I really don’t think Rose will be in the game for similar reasons: Menat took too much from her (basically everything but Soul Spiral), with the implication she is the Rose of this game.
Q ain’t gonna happen in SFV, we have the President now. Q without his trademark moves just isn’t Q, so no. Rose at least is completely different from Menat gameplay wise, so she can be included without problems. Viper was showed since S1 in many character stories, but Makoto ended up being the favorite character after Sakura in the last poll.
I’m going with Rose and Makoto, then whoever you want.
Ehhh I really don’t know if I’d count Q out yet. G has some obvious nods to the guy, sure, but they still are different enough to occupy different spots on the roster. I honestly don’t see it any different from Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Sakura having a Hadoken, Shoryuken and Tatsu.
So G isn’t Q then?

totally agree that not every female character should be conventionally sexy btw. it’s not a problem that women are sexualized in games but it’s a problem when every woman is. compared to male characters who tend to have much more diverse visual designs.
how can someone think falke’s unattractive in the first place tho

If having almost the entire moveset is just an “obvious nod” to you… there are pretty clear implications that G and Q are the same person.
I’m just saying they’re different ‘enough’. Q doesn’t have G’s flip kick, G doesn’t have Q’s slaps, Q doesn’t have a projectile, G does, stuff like that.
And as for implications, they’re just implications until something is confirmed imo. G could be Q, sure. Or he could not be. He could be one of G’s minions, maybe a failed clone, his next door neighbor, his robot butler, anything really. All I’m saying is that I don’t think G’s inclusion completely strikes out Q’s chances.

I don’t think we will be getting Q anymore. Doubt we will have three rush punch based characters on the roster.
Whether it’s a clone or G himself, in the end Q is just G with less moves and worse normals. Unless they reworked Q to play entirely different, if he was in SFV he would just end up being a bad version of G (which already has his issues). And since Capcom is trying to link SF5 to SF3 I’d say the chances that this is the only character we’ll ever get in the Q storyline are close to 100%.
If Vergeben’s Season 4 leak is true, then it would make sense for Q to be one of the freebies, since he’d essentially be a defense-based G.
Q further proven the loser that he is now that G is out. Not even the least bit presidential.

Qs clumsiness and more emphasis on close fighting make him his own thing, but i think it’s safe to say that G replaces Q for SFV
Not sure man, Capcom didn’t even bother to hire a voice actress for her. Meanwhile Viper and Oro got their voice actors since launch. I understand the chapter does set up her appearance in the future, but still…
She definitely has a good chance of getting in because there aren’t so many well known faces left. But with SF3 characters getting the preference this time (last one was Urien all the way back in S1), Sodom being the most obvious Alpha addition, maybe one more SF2 face (Honda and Fei still got a chance imo) + possible new characters, I am not sure at all Rose will be in S4.
