New SamSho is exciting and the teaser looks great. Looking forward to seeing more. I always like the game but didn’t get super into it so I can come at this one fresh.
Apparently a good way to improve at SFV is to play Into the Breach for a week straight then come back to it. Online Ranked players behave just like the Vek.
I had an excellent Ranked session. Gained around 500 points in a run and quit while I was ahead. Ended the overall night only losing one Casual set. Online Alex continues to be my boogeyman.
I’m trying to play more mindfully and observant and that worked really well. A lot of the difficulty I’ve had in Gold is trying to manage the crazy. Playing with informed patience is helping that, along with giving me a bit more time to observe which is also paying off as the sets go on. Also being able to react a bit better to forward movement/gaps and interrupt in general. Smart jabbing helps so much in this game. Double also with backdashing.
SFV still gonna be SFV (especially when I get the chance to open up with Laura) but it was fun. Winning definitely helps with the fun factor but I also feel like I’m starting to see the game in a different way and that is satisfying/exciting. Hopefully I can keep that up.
Good luck to everyone in the path of Florence. Be safe and hopefully Flo doesn’t cause too much trouble.
The biggest issue for DoA6 is that they want that esports clout. They thought appealing to western sensibilities would be the key but unfortunately DoA is the tiddy fighter and that will never change.
DOA5 was eSports ready already. Just ban the bikinis and turn off wobbly bosoms. There a bunch of tasteful costumes for every female in the game as well.
I guess if they want to get away from their image they need to phrase it as such in their interviews but if you see Helena cry while shoving her cleavage in your face in a story cutscene then I’m just getting mixed signals honestly.
Akuma’s not for sure. Fireball is punishable by some and if far away, people can jump out of it (Rashids do that all the time).
Cr.mk into tatsu is great, but that is not autopilot. For me atleast.
Other than being too honest he’s pretty solid. Good at slowing down some of the top tiers like Cammy and Akuma which is something other higher tiers have problems with.
Yeah, if you are too close you are left at -2 inside throw range… kills the entire point of trying to use it for a low xx special after like a blocked jab or something.
(Of course all things are rarely equal, especially when you’re talking about characters with outlier levels of strength in one area… But let’s leave that out for now)
Basically Sherry is the only SF girl with any real spotlight. Mainly because she’s been in since the beginning of IV so she’s had time to be that girl that actively shows up and enters events. I think her playing a character as high maintenance as Viper didn’t help as her skill level would make it tough to use even an easier character vs other people. SFV being a less high maintenance game and Necalli being easier to play I feel helps give her room to just focus on decision making and get wins in.
There are some newer girls that are pretty solid like Mahreen and MiM. Harumy beat Hsien Chang at Evo, but they just haven’t been around in the scene long enough for people in the mainstream to really know about them. Like if you’re on twitter a lot you’ll know who the first 2 are, but outside of that they dont have like the article/TV/YT video presence that Sherry does.
