SFV lounge: London we have a Problem X. SFV gave us the Burger King again

No. He can still wiff this. I’ve CC’d people where dash up button wiffs,… the first attack.

Anywho, highlands original point was neutral game CC. Not reversal punish CC. No urien is charging st.hp in the neutral. He gets charged st.hp in blockstrings and off of super long and obvious animation reversals like ken and akuma ex dp… etc.

-edit

Also, CC dash st.mp doesn’t even combo… urien is +6 after a forward dash and his st.mp is 7 frame startup. If he could get st.mp he would also get cr.hp. They don’t want him getting st.mp because then he would get st.mp,cr.mp link which would be damn near as much damage as cr.hp follow up.

The cr.mp, cr.lp link is spacing specific. If urien hits his CC at anything over about 80% of its max range, he can’t get the cr.lp to link. He can get his st.lk to link though, but even it isn’t converting at max range. It was a shit change with 0 thought put into it, like most of sf5 so I guess that’s par for the course.

Even whoever has +oB CC buttons does the same, that’s why the neutral becomes too random if we consider the priority system also. Since there’s no risk in throwing these buttons out they can turn off their brain and keep going, the bravest ones will add a +oB special after a blocked CC or EX dp if they don’t want to give up the turn. SFV footsies

mistyped sorry, I was referring to the cr.mp link, I didn’t know it could whiff, never happened to me but I do remember the cr.lp whiffing in some scenarios.
I do (slightly) charge st.hp during my pressure to catch delayed buttons sometimes and only as a yolo move in neutral

Last data I checked Rashid’s cr.fierce had 5 active and 22 recovery frames, that’s better than a sonic boom that leads to more damage, basically a mini fireball that’s got better data.

Jumping a CC button is a hard read, like you gotta be in the air almost already.

As we were getting in to our air bnb for final night(very sketchy area of town) we couldn’t bring in everything at once. Brought in first set of stuff, go back to get other stuff and its just fucking gone, maybe 1 minute it was out of sight.

Yeah, I haven’t played since the first day G came out and just took Urien into the lab for a bit… this is what I found, sorry If this was already in a change log somewhere:

URIEN NERFED AGAIN!!!
Sigh.
St.lk no longer ticks into throw, neither does st.lp iirc. Major nerf for the st.lk.

But I found a berf:

St.lk,cr.mp,st.lk xx L tackle leaves Urien in throw range and either plus 2 or 3 depending on spacing… tested on ken. So basically now Urien has a really nice CH combo and CH starter off of blocked st.lk that will lead into a +2 throw situation. Not great, but not bad either. People won’t be able to distinguish between a cr.lp>throw or a st.lk>frame trap with any sort of super consistency which can set up for shimmies well. But it’s still a huge nerf to quality of life.

Fucking crapcom.

Parry should lead to next attack being a counter state imo.

And VT2 one to instant death

I think all the CC buttons need a drawback of some kind. Miss crouchers, super short range, more punishable than spaced out -4, very long whiff recovery, maybe a larger hurbox on the back side or something if the intentional weakness is being jumpable. etc

The ones that are decent ranged and plus on block/non punishable setting up auto footsie counter pokes, while also having relatively short recovery stand out vs the rest of the design of the games buttons.

You’re damn right Rashid is gonna press crouch hp 7 times in a row. He has no reason not to.

Its the same way with the rest of the game with the way people are so careless in their neutral decision making. Huge rewards with minimal risk. So yea ppl gonna dash around and jump and just do a bunch of specials. The game doesn’t allow you to severely punish reckless behavior. Then when it does your opponent usually gets access to tools that make the crazy stuff even stronger.

Nah, my disdain doesn’t really go far beyond feeling his VT1 lasts too long overall (which I would feel for any character with a powerful V-trigger). Everything else is just an acknowledgement of what I believe is strong.

Also Nephew is from the same area, so we get to play each other on a regular basis offline and lab stuff out and we definitely labbed some more in the hotel room later that weekend (so I’ll have a lot of G experience in the coming weeks as I do Kolin experience). I also watched the replay back and caught on to some of the things I wasn’t doing as well as hearing a few comments from Automattock to consider.

I’ll get better at it though because I don’t just hold an L… I hold ALL the L’s: Lose, Look (at replays/footage), Lab, Learn and then Level up.

Falke finally getting people repping her.

Loved that confirm into super from a V-Trigger air shot. He also got screwed by stLK not comboing into standing shot at max range, he thought he had the confirm.

Baiting Shoryus with air shot Kreygasm

Are these just random online matches or something else?

Exactly. I can even stand the Crush Counter mechanic, but not like this. Honestly I don’t like how CC practically dumbed down the neutral, now it’s like pressing them and see what happens, isn’t hard to space out even those at -4, there’s no risk involved. Considering how good as a can opener a Crush Counter is, then Capcom need to even the field on them. Removing the priority system could help or put a real limit to their uses (aka punish dp’s and specials only). We’ll see, sure thing Capcom isn’t on vacation, they released Sagat and G way before S4 for a reason, can’t wait to know what’s going on. Fixing jump ins isn’t that hard on paper, reduced input lag and a height restriction for combos can do the trick.

That’s the way, keep up bro.

It seems like, dunno what happened to these low tiers nowadays. First Zeku last weekend, now this.

That CA confirm was shocking, props to him. I ain’t used anymore to what Falke can do, they seems disappeared from the CFN and dunno if that was just a lounge set between these two. Maybe Tokido didn’t know the MU but damn, this Falke play was entertaining to see.

People gave up on Falke in, like, week one. Barely anyone explored her yet everyone says she’s low tier which makes absolutely zero sense. It’s the Hakan situation all over again. She can actually fight a lot of top tier characters rather well and come Season 4 she has the potential to replace Menat as the most hated neutral/zoner in the game. I mean I have a 65% winquote with her after playing other people’s hard mains for three weeks and I stopped being good at this game when people developed beyond week two tech.

That said Tokido didn’t know the matchup. That was clear as day as soon as I saw him got hit by f.HP after forward throw, that thing is a day one meaty for Falke players basically.

@DevilJin_01 has been trying to tell people about her for a while now. He’s got a good track record on these things. He did the same thing with Ibuki and no one believed him until Xian had a good showing against Xiao Hai.
