I guess for now we’ll consider it “in order” but if it gets mod sniped again it’s not my fault and then probably will just consider it not in order cuz fuck it you guys can learn to love how bad each other is equally.

Ok Sagat made me actually play again for the first time in maybe 4 months at least.
I don’t think he’s amazing but i like what he represents for season 4. He’s fundamental sf without any gimmicks or get in free tools, and he’s actually decent. A motion fireball with good frame data without being a slow walk behind it kind of thing. I thought capcom forgot how to make those.
Gives me hope that i can see a non mix up neutral based character be good without having a faultless Guile type of design.
I don’t think this is ever going to be the kind of game where people play with methodical pacing but it would be nice if that style was viable at all levels.
Also, holy shit. Regular diamond is like silver now as far as level of play goes.

I think this is literally the only move in the game that works this way.
Only other combos that do this are ones into command grabs like Laura’s and giefs stuff.
And of course supers…

Ibuki’s raida falls into the same thing.
Plus some characters have moves that cause HKD like Ed and Bison. G starting the engines.

The Akuma-Karin MU is still terrible for the latter, but this time Punk adjusted his gameplan deciding to don’t be too greedy with shimmies and get free damage from throws instead. No oki for Karin after that, but who cares? He isn’t forced to stay on offense all the time, especially when you have a character like Karin still able to do mad damage. It’s too early to say Punk gets back his soul, but could be a new start for him. Some people will never love or respect him, but he’s the most talented youngster worldwide and US best chance to get Evo at SF in the future.

But yeah G’s shit is about the best thing you can combo into that does what it does from what I’m seeing. Especially the damage output before you get stuffed into normal tech.

Have you ever been able to backroll moves that cause a wallbounce? Granted those are super rare (Balrog’s higher level turn punches and Ryu’s EX Joudan are the only non-grab ones I remember off the top of my head)
At work so I can’t double check but it might just be that you’ve never been able to backroll from a move that wallbounces. G is just the only other character aside from Ryu who can combo into one via a bnb.
A technicality I suppose but I am curious. I have a feeling Capcom didn’t bother animating backrolls for when a character is lying facedown. And it would be something to keep in mind if any other characters get moves that can wallbounce.
EX Scissor Kick and EX Head Stomp both cause hard knockdowns.

cant his vskill absorb fireballs?
Gs V skill can absorb projectiles, but it has enough recovery where at that range he would take a full combo for trying it.

What I like so far about Gat is he actually does pretty well against the top tiers, they actually have to respect his fireballs and hold these AA’s. Finally someone to save us
