Ay, I watched just the Akuma part so yeah, seems to work out for Bochan. Not sure if Cammy 6-4’s Sagat since there seems to be a formula to keep her at bay and/or a way to condition her. That’s the second time I saw Bochan condition a Cammy but it could just be the opponent seeing the name “Bochan” which is still a part of the Street Fighter meta :^)
Also you can Kara Super, not too sure how that’ll help just yet.
Take note that I am playing Falke right now and I am considering maining her.
You do remember what happened to Gief in S3, right?
That seems to happen more often than not with characters I main.
I don’t know how much they could bust her down though without just being dicks about it. I’m not sure if she’ll get big buffs (Capcom seems to be weird with these “buttons for specials” characters) but we’ll see. However I’ve also heard some semi-legendary things about Deejay in SFIV and it is Capcom so all bets are off.
I’ve enjoyed playing both Falke and Menat as secondary characters. Menat is definitely stronger but a) since we’re getting closer to a season rollover I’m leery the annual patching backlash for any of the current top tiers, and b) I like how Falke is a zoning/poking character but can also convert to bigger chunks of damage. Menat is a little too “death by a thousand paper cuts” for me.
Also S4 characters are a possibility but we’re a ways off from knowing who that will be.
I’m certain he has blockstrings into + l/H Shots. I saw that when I first tried him out. +1 +2 and so forth. HK TK is definitely the best one for + frames. It can be up to +4.
Cammy would not even be able to move in that matchup if PP was any better. Which is crazy considering she has a dive. It’s fine as it is considering EX PP is an invincible version of that move. c.HP and j.MP basically covers anything PP doesn’t cover.
He’s not, if played almost perfectly then sure he’s a threat but’s not good. He does fill a certain itch and void that has been missing from sf5 though.
Just based on “bad” match ups alone from what I can tell already
Vega, sim, cammy, rog, Laura, chun, meant, mika and maybe G.
That doesn’t look like a good character to me, there isn’t a match that he really beats a character in which is crazy considering his normals, AA’s and fireballs.
Sagat is def one of those characters capcom was scared to make “good” for fear of him being to good for the average player.
And when I say make good, I don’t mean OP but stupid specific barriers and truthfully the Kara Dp. Yeah it was in sf4 cool but did it really need to be a thing in 5. I feel like most of his stuff could have worked without it but they went ahead and made kara dp required for some things for “depth”
Oh and if you are playing sagat online its a WORLD of a difference playing him offline. even with a good connection its way hard to get a dp off after tiger shot as compared to offline. Sagat is actually a bit better offline compared to online…I think this is the 1st character I’ve felt like this about in sf5.
With that said it’s super satisfying playing him and being able to see your growth.
Cammy no, Chun will probably be even, he can fight Laura because Laura can’t deal with fireballs that she can’t jump which is Sagat (originally just Guile). He won’t die to Menat, he has everything to deal with Mika (he’s probably the closest thing to a reincarnation of S1 Ryu vs Mika), Sim will be alright he’s probably the only long range/zoner that actually has the right tools for Sim.
Vega maybe. Only real correct ones you got were Rog and G and didn’t list Juri.
G isn’t bad his vskill can’t startup in time vs high shots and you can play closer to negate his vskill absorption entirely. Lvl3 a bit of an issue cause of the kick special but it’s a free DP if you bait.
I dont like it in the long run just because G definitely has the buttons to contend as you move closer and has that crazy s.HK which knocks you back into that far range where your shots aren’t great. It’s a match you can fight, but if Gs start getting good I personally wouldn’t wanna deal with it. VT2 helps a bit, but yeah.
SFV diff has it in tiny ass letters under certain scripts.
If I’m looking at the right place should be.
Sagat .0365 F/ .0277 B
G .0376 F/ .0300 B
Similar but G a tad snappier. 3 is about where you wanna be minimum for back walk. Doesn’t kill you if you aren’t, but makes back walking out of buttons and shimmies pretty doable if you are about there. Sagat is basically light on his feet compared to last game.
