SFV lounge: London we have a Problem X. SFV gave us the Burger King again

It is much harder to kill someone by stabbing them than by shooting them, though.

All i know is I’d rather be dealing with a USA where it’s much harder to have some kid roll around with a gun in his hand that he got from who knows where. Plus you have a bit more room to survive a knife attack over some one with a weapon where they can pick you off from a range where you can’t even contest them.

Don’t see the US getting into a drug war state where having those guns easily accessible to people who don’t value life is necessary.

That’s my take. Other than that I’d rather focus on Fuudos win and gettin gud in ranked

The feel of responsibility is not enough. You’ve got to actually be able to fire a gun. For example i fire pretty acurately with godd old AK74 from 100 meter distance. Give me a pistol and a body sized target at 25 meter distance and i wont score a hit. Any bullet missed is a risk to hurt somebody uninvolved.
When we where in military training in university people joking about how they fucked up weapon handling made me so mad because bullets were ricocheting off the walls and floor and could actually hit someone.

That is what I mean with proficiency tests.
No one that can’t handle a gun properly should have one. It is too dangerous.
I go to the range every so often to shoot some .38 revolvers and a .44-40 carbine to keep my gun proficiency sharp.
So if I ever get a hold of one I will know how to handle it properly.
You got to respect them.

The fact that fucking elementary schools now a days have active shooter drills like I had fire drills back in the day tells me that there is a god damn problem that needs to be solved. Think about that for a second. Kids have to go to school worrying about the possibility of being shot up in a place that they are supposed to be super safe and growing and learning.

I personally have no clue what the solution is though, and it’s not an easy answer.

There’s no solution. If you know someone has a gun you have the rights to have a gun too, because he can enter in your home and squeeze that shit on you. That’s the American state of mind. If I encounter a girl on the streets she can call the cops because I have a dick? Hey, with that I can potentially assault her. See how stupid it is? The fear of getting shot down convince people to get a gun and shot down the enemy first. And at the end everybody has a gun. Too late.

There may not be all end all solution, but there’s gotta be a solution to cut back on this shit happening. And anyone who thinks that the easy access to guns isn’t a major reason for it is just delusional.

With the amount of guns moving through the US, legal or illegal, what is the solution?

Well for starters, make it WAY harder to legally get them. That would be a start. It’s way too easy to legally get guns as it is now.

They require some type of “renewal” process every few years, like how you have to re-register your cars every year or so. But make it also involve some kind of psych eval.

I also think the argument about “we can’t change the 2nd amendment” is really stupid since it was created at a completely different time in history. If you remember, we used to also sell and trade slaves in this country but that has changed.

Times change, laws and rules need to follow.

EDIT:

And with that I’ll stop talking about this here, this really isn’t the thread for this discussion.

What I want to see from Season 4 in terms of general changes:

  • V-Reversal buffs. If you don’t want to speed them up, fine, but increase the pushback on block at least.
  • An extra 10% damage scaling on crush-counters and a general nerf to crush-counter buttons. They need to be riskier to use than they are, not half of your gameplan. If you have an actual read, great! Big reward! If not? Oh no, big punish. Remember that principle? Risk / Reward?
  • Additional recovery frames on all V-Trigger activations / cancels. They’re too positive off blocked normals and raw activation pauses cause too many stalemate situations at the end of rounds where you can hit two buttons to react to anything with a 1 bar invincible move.
  • Reduce the amount of time needed to begin recovering stun from the last hit / block. It takes too fucking long in a game where it’s so easy to badger with mids / lights.
  • Increase white life recovery speed. Maybe it doesn’t have to be as fast as S1, but what the fuck, white damage might as well be real damage as it is.
  • Buff walkspeeds, nerf dashes. I know this one will never happen though because too many characters are designed around dash in setups.

The sad part is I don’t see anything changing. Mass shootings are basically natural disasters. There’s no rhyme or reason to them. They just occur randomly. I feel awful whenever I see people lose their lives over nothing. The sickening feeling never goes away.

Confirmed to be the little bitch Bread from Baltimore.

Going back to FGs, I am only being able to maintain a 35%~40% win ratio with Falke so far. :frowning:
I am so bad at this Street Fighter thing. Why can’t it be more KOF like?

Well, at least my favourite gay guy Fuudo won the CPT premier today.

There’s been at least 3 that were very much preventable but the ball was dropped: Pulse Night club, Texas church and Parkland in Florida.

  1. The wife snitched her husband to the FBI but they dropped the ball.
  2. The Airforce fucked up reporting that the guy was a spousal abuser (which would’ve prevented him from buying guns) so he was able to obtain them.
  3. FBI was contacted numerous times about him but never did any proper investigating.

You’d be surprised how much current laws work when people aren’t fucking them up.

Problem is that guns available period is why they get used. When they aren’t available, people use other things when they want to wild out. You already have to go through a lot of steps to buy a gun. People just don’t know you have to so they say random things.

Take my AR-15 Set to Full Semi-Automatic mode. That’s a bullshit ass statement that nobody called me out on. The fact that nobody did is why we can’t have a good conversation on this: you have to be at least informed to how these things function before you can make suggestions.

A lot of the people in this thread don’t know Tom from Jerry when it comes to guns. That in itself is fine, but you’re not going to accomplish anything against people well versed in them. Educate yourselves on how guns actually function, fire one if you get a chance, and look up the laws in your states/countries.

Don’t be next level Clown Shoes ass Frost when it comes to a complicated issue.

What’s a full semi auto?

I see we’re already in the “concern-troll about other nations’ violence who don’t have easy access to guns” phase of the Mass Shooting Cycle. Cool.

How about that Fuudo, huh? Great stuff. Mika might be good.

Ah yes, the day has come.
The garbage fire that is the “muh guns” debate has reached SRK and competitive gaming as a whole.

Sincere condolences to the ones in Jacksonville.

Shit’s fucked up.
Also, America can keep their guns for all I care, I really don’t care.
Just be aware that senseless shootings will always be a part of it as well.
It’ll take a lot of directly afflicted individuals before legislation changes.

A dishonest phrase used by news corporations to scaremonger. It was used in some silly ass news report and a friend of mine and I had a great laugh at it. I can also use it to play “spot the people who don’t know much about the issue” since its so nonsensical that it’d get called out by people who understand the issues.

Pretty good article about guns in general:

This topic is very serious. Problem is that by and large the people who want gun laws passed are the most uneducated on the topic. If you want to have a fruitful conversation, then you need to be educated on how they work, what their differences are, why Mexico’s/Brazil’s gun laws are of concern to gun owners in the U.S., special issues involving the 2nd amendment (what happens when you recover from a mental illness and want to protect yourself) etc.

If you could barely hold a candle to me half trolling then you need to read up more on the issue. It is complicated for a vast amount of reasons.

So please, don’t pull a Frost and talk out of your ass because you need to grandstand. Get educated and move the dialogue forward. Also don’t make the assumption that all legal gun owners fall under one party. The friend that I go shooting with every once in a while didn’t vote for Trump. Don’t assume all of a person’s politics based on how they feel about the 2nd amendment.

This is such a bullshit copout excuse from gun nutters. You don’t have to be a fucking gun expert to make suggestions on how to help solve the problem.

Also comparing stuff like running down a crowd of people with a truck that rarely happens as a comparison to mass shootings that happen almost weekly now is just face palm worthy.

The fact that you’ve already made up your mind is actually the reason that we can’t have good conversations with people such as yourself. There’s nothing that is going to be said that will ever change your mind.

More people die in the US from cars than they do fire arms. If you’re trying to save lives, ban cars.

If you didn’t know the fact aforementioned fact, then you aren’t ready to argue with gun people.
