Yeah I had that like stuck point after Super Diamond also. I started Falke from Super Plat and it was like easy sailing until I got to Super Diamond then it was like “oh shit people kinda know what they’re doing now” and I would be losing matches I shouldn’t because of matchup/player knowledge issues and such. Plus Falke is not really a scum comeback character so you can only win streak for so long before you get blocked out/set played down for one game and that’s it. 2 0ing someone requires a consistency that’s beyond what you need to be consistent in a tournament any way.
Yeah it’s like most ranks before. Anyone 2 or 3 ranks below you have to streak them. If I run into the same Diamond too many times I just blacklist them because the tiny points they give me are not worth it. You’re right about those Diamonds. They are pretty easy to 2 0 especially if you know their style, but I just don’t like threading the needle that often incase they get a random game. the point I mentioned about Cody’s fireball clashing gets shown off here too, the fact that Cody can contest maybe one fireball, but due to the slow travel speed; resulting in a fireball clash closer to him, he doesn’t have enough time to throw out another and either has to block or attempt a neutral jump on it, sometimes the latter he won’t have time for either.

Yeah this is the one I forgot about until I started watching footage again. The jumps in NRS NK games are super shallow. Not like the frames in that game are super fast either so I imagine if someone wants to jump they can just kinda go for it at times. Plus that jump is going to launch them for combos. With run being gone that’s going to be the thing people go to to close up gaps (and maybe if some characters have OD dashes)

Boon or his design team just suck at exercising restraint. They’re too enamored with the “cool” factor and going overboard with giving everyone everything and being damn good at doing everything.
The character design in street fighter will always be at the top. For all the balance flaws there are in sf, they’re nothing like what you see in nrs games.
You will never see two players really trying to micro walk in and out of poke ranges in mk, there is ALWAYS something powerful to do at ANY RANGE with just about ANY character.
I was really hoping to see some type of street fighter influence in mk. But the dream of watching that finely tuned art of manipulating the spacing in neutral with movement alone in MK is dead.
Even the binary/nrs styled characters in sf like nash/bison are weak in some neutral positions that you can strategize to fight for. At least you can actually scout out and react to their wild shit.
MK is nope. Are you standing there and holding block? No? K hold this full screen side switch teleport or lightning fast projectile with no hurtbox (how they just phase through each other wtf).
Even barracks has a projectile? What the hell are these guys doing? IMO their design philosophy is just fucking terribad.
Like taking the robust neutral tools of guilty gear characters, putting all of them on every character, then SERIOUSLY restricting their movement and shrinking the stage. It’s just bad
