It’s not going to attract the same amount of people who play LoL and DotA, but I think that F2P has a lot of potential for fighting games. It would at least attract the curiosity of people who want to try out competitive play without having to spend money.

Cool, I was playing a juri last night and it seemed her combos did more more damage than I thought.
I still feel like VTC scaling should’ve been on a character-by-character basis

yeah but you need whales to support a f2p games, idk if they are popular enough to attract them.
IIrc KI wasn’t exactly a huge success (to the point that it went from being a Microsoft store exclusive to be released on steam) and I’m not sure a game like SF could get the same kind of fans of DoA

SFV itself was influenced by f2p games.
And despite so many people saying that even if you only play one or two characters, you need access to all the characters for proper training, there was plenty of vocal support for people being able to only buy the individual DLC characters that they wanted while ignoring the rest. The same happened with MvC3 to UMvC3, where some people vocally complained that the move away from individual DLCs robbed them of the ability to just buy the one or two new characters that they’d wanted.

Ok makes sense since she relies on filling her things up.
A couple days ago I played against a VT2 Menat and man it felt so weird to fight it… she did that release in which the orbs go down, then did slide or overhead and it would confirm into a relatively short but good burst damage combo. Then she would pull out another orbs summon and more or less do the same thing.
And that is not even taking into account the AA version of it which I’m certain she can combo out of it with soul throw and stuff.
Fairly certain VT1 is still better but VT2 seems to do some nifty stuff, I wanna try it out.
Play laggy super diamond Guile in a lounge. Teabags me one match, loses the next.

Menat, Ken, and Mika is my current rotation and the one I plan on sticking with, outside of maybe occasional random select casuals to get more FM through level-ups

I just had a close set with Problem X’s Birdie in ranked. That matchup looks ass for Birdie, but his VT2 stuff still catches me completely by surprise.
