Watching Bonchan vs. Tokido I see that the best Bonchan can do against air fireball is trade with an uppercut.
Meanwhile this place made it seem like Chun, who does not have a DP, had the advantage whenever Akuma used air fireball the last time the topic came up.
It’s a frame trap button so by design it makes sense to be short ranged. Since there aren’t prox buttons in the game you have prox buttons that are attached to specific normals. They are usually given plus frames so that you can pressure with them when in range. s.MP is not a button Sagat really presses in SF games otherwise any way.
The other type of prox buttons are the stuff like Akuma’s s.MK which are meant for counter poking/whiff punishing and are like the V ism stubby buttons. Which those buttons in both games are some of the best in the game due to ability to spam and frame start up/recovery.
His c.HP is definitely a bit shorter than I’d like it to be for reference of actual ranged moves, but at least they bumped it up a frame.
That trade will work in his favor any way long as he has life lead.
Chun doesn’t do great vs air fireball, but she has more options than the dire scenarios people make it out to be. Especially between higher level players.
She controls some of the more dishonest characters in the game pretty well too.
Not a great solo tournament character, but very good counter pick character and beats a lot of the shenanigans other characters kinda have to hold.
Both of those trades work completely in Sagat’s favor. Even the air fireballs that did hit Bonchan weren’t really that threatening damage wise to Bonchan.
Yeah, she seems like someone you can counterpick. We’re holding a small tourney here and I faced two Dhalsims in a row, that was not fun (I still beat one of them with my day 1 Falke and now I’m in top 8 after a few other guys died to shots and PP too, these guys aren’t very good :V )
I ran into future Bea online. This former Gief Main that’s Ultra Diamond with Falke. I cleaned his ass up because unlike Cody Kolin Vs Falke isn’t 6-4 in her favor hehehehehe
