SFV Lounge: Ken is high mid. Kage is barely mid. F2P still coming

YO DOCTRINE.

YOU GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK AND YOU DO IT NAO!

Pretty please. :joy: :japanese_goblin:

Her AA buttons can lose. You have to be jumping in with the right buttons - i.e. probably one of your heavies - but if the Menat player is a little late you can definitely force a trade with her cr.HP (which is almost like winning).

The thing about Menat is that anyone that has put any amount of time into her knows how much you want to jump. She sort of chips away at you but one jump in can easily turn the tide of the whole match, so anyone that didn’t rage quit the character after playing her for any amount of time keeps one wary eye on the skies.

If you are constantly jumping into her buttons and losing that is because you aren’t doing enough to divert the Menat player’s attention elsewhere. The most obvious thing in the world to do when you’re being kept out by the wall of orbs is to try and land that one lucky jump on a st.HP that will turn the whole fight around and they usually aren’t just gonna give that up.

Not that I have a great method to do that consistently. Obviously. But that is the theory. If you scroll back up and watch the matches Frost had with Akhos he did a much better job navigating the character than I did. Even if you aren’t playing Cody the general ideas are probably a good place to start.

Not to alarm you guys but my points are going up

I think Bea scared me into being more consistent

Are you slowly realising yet that every FG player has had your same experience in their path to getting better

They also all had a big ass period of calling themselves trash

I did too but I erased it from history please don’t check my old posts

Hehehehehehe gonna have fun tonight

Honestly, Zeku has to be in his young man form as much as possible. I know that’s typical for most of his match-ups, but it’s really something that has to be done. Gotta abuse st.HK, st.MP. cr.MP and st.LK more in your pressure as well. Gram is pretty good against Cammy at the right distance, but once she has meter, or if it’s not spaced well, it leaves him wide open. Generally speaking, Zeku can be a pain in the ass for Cammy–you just gotta find the sweet spot to get the offense started.

So I’ve been planning on making this Bison Vid, finally get a Diamond Bison player and I deliberately try to concentrate on all the things I’m gona be sharing in the video.

Goes like a charm, everything works like I was gona exlpain.

… Mother fucker Rage quits at the KO screen, FML

There’s no way to get that back is there? Was a fucking casual match as well lol.

Yeah sorry about that, but we had to stop you before you make a big mistake. The lord is merciful.

Really? While I haven’t cared about the SFV modding scene for a long time, I just looked at the folder, and aren’t these all just versions that were previously released for free? The folders are even labeled Bronze, which was his “free” tier.

so many wips to doooooo

Do you still have trouble staying in Super Diamond or have you built a good buffer now? I remember seeing you talk about this struggle when I was still in Super/Ultra Platinum. The points trickling down has shot me up to 22k now. I figured it has to be doing the same for you.

Kage seems to be basically sf5’s equivalent of oni. They seem to literally have the same core design and flaws and i havent played sf4 a whole lot. I’m sure people that know more about that game can expound on this.

Unlike Kage Oni could actually play the fireball game. And I think Kage’s pressure on block is better than Oni’s was.

So basically what I’m saying is that one of them is a SFIV character and the other a SFV character.

I think it’s a valid comparison, they share a very similar move set ( fake air fire ball, slowish normals, average fireball game).

Oni personally I think was more tricky, he had stomp to blow up throws and his cross up was a bit faster.

Honestly I don’t think Kage is that good, where as oni definitely had potential.

To be fare though I don’t think oni got anywhere near a major from memory…

Wao did great with Oni, from what I can remember he got 2nd in one Topanga League and 2nd at SCR. The character wasn’t top tier, but definitely had potential and could compete.

As for Kage, I don’t think that will be the case for him. He’s very straight forward and unless he get some major changes I don’t think we’ll be seeing much of him deep in tournaments.

I still believe that if he had a good zoning fireball then he’d be a real contender. Without it I don’t think the rest of his tools are good enough to make up for the lack of it.

Guy near me is selling Real Arcade Pro N Hayabusa. Anyone has that stick? Should I buy it?

I had the loudest PS4 Pro ever. So I’ve bought a new one which is way better.
Yesterday, a friend of mine put liquid metal instead of a thermal paste in the old one and it is whisper quiet now.
So, if anyone else has the same issue and does not care about warranty…

It’s a good stick, imo the best one after the Fighting Edge in the Hori sticks lineup. Getting used to the Hayabusa lever takes some time, but after that you gonna enjoy the advantages of the V- housing of the pivot. The buttons are good, but they’re hit or miss tbh. On my Panthera actually I’ve found the perfect balance with the Hayabusa lever with Sanwa buttons.

Ironically both characters were jizzed over on release. I remember oni got banned the first few tourneys.

I think what happens is you see Ken Ryu and Akuma who have the shoto style, then they add in the evil version but his shit looks cooler and crosses up.

Then everyone loses their mind like OMG cross up tatsu!! Without releasing cross up tatsu is a bit shit.

Being able to do ex instant cross up tatsu and shit also means you also lose health, fireball and good normals. Ascending to evil hadou means you get to drop down a tier or two.
