I’m actually quite a big Predator/Alien fan since forever, there’s another forum I hang out on to talk movie smack. You should see that place after that movie…lol
Thing is it starts off quite promising, then it just goes into total carnage mode and never returns.
Ken you can’t use Menats VT1 properly at all, you don’t make use of air drills and your button usage is wayy too minimal. I literally can’t contest her orb shit but you don’t press it like it had some sort of hurtbox I can stuff, it let’s me walk in for free.
Ken is similar in that you don’t do enough to have a screen presence but you play closer, made really good use of VT2 and had better aggressive play. You need more optimal damage and you need to not be afraid to play outside of data, you stick to frame perfect traps too much. Staggering and loose as fuck strings when you’re fighting someone who gives respect to you.
I get too afraid of jumps so I end up more conservative with Menat’s buttons, too worried about all my work being negated in an instant
That transfers to Ken or any other character I play too, though differently, I worry too much about making the wrong decision or someone guessing right so I end up playing ridiculously safe and not pressing much, it’s why I’m so naturally passive and why my offense is so bad
Menat VTI and drills I’m working on, one thing at a time with her and all that (lost most of my muscle memory for at least the basic stuff 'cause of swapping characters 9000 times)
Also I don’t think you committing to two characters is good, pick one
Nobody picks a main and secondary and learns both simulateously, you’re hella far from being proficient with either of your picks so put one down and stop trying to master two at once
Well that’s what I meant by the “differently” part about playing scared with Ken
It’s not jumps with Ken I end up worried about (if I had DP AAs down the only thing I’d worry about getting jumped on is sthk and fireballs) it’s getting crush countered/whiff punished in neutral or hit out of my staggers or what have you
Haven’t played enough to be unafraid to plant myself where I want and hit what I want based on where my opponent is and what they’re doing
Ken is gonna be my focus, but since we were battling it out in lounges I enjoy trying and learning about both of 'em. Not like we had a shortage of games~
Mostly asked the comparison earlier 'cause was just curious how bad you thought I was c:
Well ya change characters like every week so your actual chatacter knowledge for situations is mad low which is ironic considering you do so much data work
I can’t judge your characters because you don’t really have a “main”, at least not an actual main. You just say it’s a main. Your approach to matchups and having any specific punishes is probably nonexistent or incredibly limited.
Not having situational awareness on your character and having a lack of cemented muscle memory is also probably affecting your reflex play incredibly harshly.
Your raw ability is alright but your commitment is the only thing holding you back. Pick someone and stick to them with the expectancy that they will have a chatacter flaw. Everyone’s main has a problem they don’t like.
And this is why I don’t like it when people keep trying to praise me; I haven’t done anything to earn that! Haven’t put in the work you and others have.
I need more critique like those past few posts
(Speaking of I put up matches between me and GetTheTables earlier would you or @Highlandfireball mind taking a peek you ignored the guy last time)
