SFV Lounge: Ken is high mid. Kage is barely mid. F2P still coming

This was pretty much what happened. He crossed over you before your hitbox became active.

What you need to know about vt2 is that the chains are both -2. Birdie can contest after with EX Bullhorn so a delay throw is a pretty good choice there.

A lot of birdie players, myself included, use st.HP to cancel into it, but this leaves a very large gap, so large in fact that you can actually just jump if you block the st.HP, lol. It’s nowhere near a true string. st.HK x vt2 chains are a true string, but you can delay the cancel to get a 3f frame trap, so be careful trying to contest that one.

I know what happened i just think its dumb they he got past me in less than 7 frames when he was that far out. Why does he need to move that fast smh

It is extremely dumb, aye.
There is no reason for any move to be able to cover so much screen distance in such a short time.

I could stomach it if it was mad punishable.

Or the character was otherwise less good.

Yeah it’s pretty dumb. But if you block it don’t let him cancel into chain for free, the best he can do if you just hold up forward is cr.MP or make a very hard read with H AA Chain.

To elaborate.

I don’t hate the idea of a YOLO fuck neutral, get in for free move. In many ways, they are to neutral what a DP is for pressure. But They should be treated like a DP, be mad unsafe, and not lead to too much damage.

Can’t Kolin catch it with a counter though?

Yeah, but good luck with that.

For sure, but apparently better luck with that than super in the same situation.

Does every character have an anti fireball move? And how strong are those in reality?

No, and it depends.

I know that’s not a satisfying answer, but it’s the truth.

Lol, yeah. That was a fantastic read/reaction and seeing it get blown up by hitbox nuance was sad.

No and it depends. That tells me that it depends on the player. That’s good enough for me, thanks.

I do exactly that to the same guy in another round.

In the round the gif is from i should’ve countered high but i didn’t realize how fast he was moving.

I wouldn’t so pissed about that dude if he would’ve give infos with PROOFS, instead he kept giving cryptic answers. He’s a beta male who thinks Capcom has him on notice, if Rose ain’t happen y’all know who thank about it.

??

I’m not sure how you got that from what I said?

Not all characters have anti-fireball moves, and the ones that do are varying degrees of effective against different fireballs.

If you could be more specific about the characters we could give a better answer. This game has only one universal anti-fireball move… jumping. So everything else is matchup dependent.

If rose doesn’t happen there is a long list of deities I will be thanking before that fraud.

Rashid is supposed to be a replacement for the elfeurte archetype. Since yolo bullshit has been in general toned from prev games they instead gave rashid sub average damage. But in s2 capcom decided to beef rashid’s damage and the rest is history.
In my early days playing this game with Birdie i used to have a horrible time dealing with rashid. In prev years bronze rashid players would camp and shoot hurricane and mash eagle spike. I would get hit by eagle spike for walking a fraction of a inch with slow ass birdie and on block i’d punish with sweep. Couldnt corner rashid either because he could easily escape it. Lol, those were the good days.

At this point I am wondering if anything is happening for SFV at all, I know it’s impossible that they do nothing, but with this brilliant idea they need something big to make people happy, because the community seems pretty pissed (I know I am) and 1 character won’t cut it, and the more they keep everything in the dark, the more people will get pissed.
I am impressed though, they managed to fuck up very early in the season, in the past they took more time
