Wait, how do people have less time to play as adults than as kids (unless they have kids themselves obviously)? I’ve never had more spare time than I’ve had after I started working full time. ._.
That makes no sense to me. My daily schedule as an adult is basically 8 hours of work, 1 hour lunch break plus about 1 hour of travel time per day which averages to 10 hours.
At school it was 6 hours of school plus about half an hour of travel time, so basically 3.5 hours more free time per day.
Add to that that you also aren’t as exhausted after 6 hours than after 10 hours which makes you more productive during those extra hours as well.

I have 7.5 hours of work (lunch included), 15 minutes of travel each way, and the work isn’t very intensive so I’m rarely exhausted. During childhood I had as long schooldays but longer travel time and sports 4 times a week, plus parents that didn’t like me playing more than an hour or two per day. During studies I almost didn’t have time off between classes, labwork, part time jobs and volunteer work so I was usually too exhausted to put time into fighters. The time I had to play was used to wind down, not improve, I was too exhausted for that.
Well, different lifestyles. But I feel like the majority of people have less time as adults than as kids and teens. During my teenage years in particular I played way too much. Got home at around 2:30p.m. and pretty much played until my parents got home at around 6:00 p.m. and then sometimes even more after dinner.
Those RPGs that take me three months to finish these days were done in a fortnight.
Platinum Kens are something else with their stage + wifi + PS4 + yolo DPs on lag tech, but that won’t be enough to stop me.
Once I get my stick back from repairs this week, I will be a platinum scrub and start my road to be a diamond scrub. Then light a fire under your ass to force you stop dancing between diamond and super diamond.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not salty about how full my life is, I’m just sore over the utter shit quality of my play when I’m only getting maybe an hour long session once every two weeks.
Full time job with a shitty commute, three very young kids (1 year old & two 6 month olds), and a wife that also works full time and needs occasional human companionship.
I could lock myself in the basement and play more, but then I am basically an absentee from my life.

I think I technically have more time as an adult to play. My work days are as long as my school days were and the travel time is pretty much the same too. I don’t have stuff like homework to worry about anymore either.
It’s the desire to enjoy other sources of entertainment that suffers for me as I think I spend more time practicing FGs in general than I did as a kid, while a lot of the single player stuff I want to play, movies I want to watch and music I want to listen to is getting backlogged/not played at the same rate as I used to. There’s also so much stuff in these categories constantly pumping out compared to back then that it’s harder to keep up with imo.
The training stage/the grid got two additional song tracks with the ads patch. You can turn those on in the BGM settings

I was definitely one of those kids who played games from the time I got home from school till when moms got home around 6. From like 8th grade up to senior year I never did homework, and if i did it was crammed while still in class. Then during the summer? Bro I was playing at least 8 hrs a day.
It was fun times but I wish I would’ve done other shit back then. Missed opportunities to make friends and get involved in stuff.

I can relate to this. I didn’t really learn how to “life” until college.
Also this conversation shouldn’t be an “America” vs everyone else thing. Individual people make individual choices and as long as they are comfortable with them who would I be to judge.

I remember when S3 first started I thought his EX DR was dead but it’s still a free “fuck you” 70% of the time for a bar. Got to love when he crosses up and recovers instantly into sthk, that’s the best.
