SFV Lounge: Ken is high mid. Kage is barely mid. F2P still coming

Sure, I need all the help I can get.

I played that Necalli the other day. I think I beat him if I remember right, though I can’t take down his Ryu it seems.

Prototype ran into me in rank but he knows me because I peep his streams and I’ve been running into for a minute now. I beat him in the first set but he downloaded me in the next.

Funny story about Prototype. A guy in a discord that I’m in always gets destroyed by this Master Chun who is also apart of the Discord. He ask Prototype about the match up and if he wants to play the chun. Prototype says he thinks it’s 5-5 and agrees to play the Chun. So they play 3 FT5 and he lost all 3, I think it went 5-2, 5-1, and then 5-3.

I heard he was displaying some salt throughout the sets but started giving credit where it was due at the end. But here is 1 highlight from the sets that he decided to tweet out

Das cute maybe him taking the next two was due to you not having much competency at adaptation in longer sets

You go to any tournaments Twin? Would be a good way to get your name out there.

Sigh…fine:

I’m on a laptop.

prototype gettin gud, but his character is still trash

should join the low mid tier G army

I have a theory that Capcom are waiting for the MK11 reveal to plan their year accordingly. It will be a competitive one and SF5 needs to remain relevant.

My goals in sfv, like in any other fighter I’ve ever played, mostly mk, is to have fun. I’m a really slow learner and it takes me time to become even decent in any fighting game, I also don’t have much time to play as I’m pretty busy but I love learning all I can, I don’t think I’ve ever been upset about losing a match, or a hundred, I guess you can say that means I’m not so competitive minded, I guess in fighting games I’m the happy go lucky dude that likes to learn and win but laughs at himself when he loses lol. But I completely understand people getting salty when they lose, it’s normal, we all want to win, but as long as we remember that nobody always wins and that having fun is really gratifying. I thank you for your insight, and your tips, believe me I take all that into account, thanks bro.

Did reaction test on pc. Got 250 average. About 10 higher than when I was in early to mid 30’s. Sounds about right.

@akhos about how much in game time is there to do something like chun cr.mk confirm? I can’t remember the numbers but assuming that cr.mk has 10 frames of hitstop plus 4 delay cancel frames that’s 14 total frames, then we turn those frames into 16.66 ms per frame that’s 233 frames to react. But of course that’s not counting input delay. So counting input delay this should be near impossible for normal humans. So where is the math wrong?

If you smoke or drink I am sure it dulls your reaction time over time. That’s why I left most of that back in my 20s.

muscle memory

Also auditory cue plays a big part of it

It’s also a very binary reaction, it’s a different type of reaction compared to the human benchmark. Sitting there waiting for the green screen to flash at any time gives you a really long window of possibile time frames for when you have to react.

The hit confirm forces a narrow reaction window that you just trian your brain to know. It’s a much more simple reaction because you know exactly when to react or (not to react)

True, either a golden shadaloo soldier for 1k fm or a Chun costume.

That makes sense. But I still don’t know how to train the faculty. The hours I’ve put in have meant jack squat.

It’s fucking weird to. Like I do the human benchmark and I don’t feel anywhere near my fastest reaction time, but I just can’t make my fingers go faster. Like it feels so much slower than “real reactions” but I basically get the same deer in the headlights reaction on cancel confirms.

Whereas easier reactions like CH confirms and stuff I’m not even totally processing mentally…I kinda just “feel” them. It’s weird.

Your video incorrectly included shots of Head Stomp and Somersault Skulldiver trying to pass them on as Devil’s Reverse. Those 3 are not the same.

Furthermore, it is difficult to deal with, annoying, but that does not equate being OP or broken. It costs meter ffs!

Devil’s Reverse has always been a problem for shotos, the move was designed to be anti-shoto. Showing clips of Bison dominating shotos with DR is counterintuitive.

They nerfed the hitbox and recovery on that move since s3, it’s more straightforward to anti air and it’s a bit more of a commitment move on bison’s side because if opponent successfully dashes under it or you whiff it you can get punished. Looks like Kenpi was a little too eager to shoryuken out of his problems.
It’s still a bull move but that’s what charge or grappler chars get. Personally i have a bigger problem with alex’s ex headbutt or birdie’s ex dolphin dive. You absolutely need to be in the right state of mind to neutral jump those.

So, I’ve decided to watch that Tokido video on second screen while I am waiting for some tests to execute.
Put the speed to 25% so I can see better what is going on. Match against Menat playing now and I feel a pervert, as you can see under her skirt better while in slowmo.
I should definitely not watch matches with female characters while working…
