fuck skool
People throwing shade at each other, meanwhile Twin’s being like
Nothing wrong with online disputes but you have to be careful nowadays, folks will hold that convo and create new lore to expand their autism
i memba it used to be fuck you, no fuck you, you a bitch YOU A BITCH…and that was that…now people have chapters of rage and salt :^)
i just remember me and mike going at it for a very small moment about ryu/juri…but why go on and on and on about small things
the ironic thing is we are on a fighting game forum, if you want to have the 1up just fucking do a ft10…who cares if its america to norway SFV netcode is godlike
Yes…yes…this is it…this is how you troll and pop shit lmao
I know this is a joke, but has the netcode been improved since I’ve been away?
I’ve had 10 different sets (so 20-30 matches) in the last 2-3 days and only a brief glimpse of stutter in one of them. That includes fighting someone with a Japanese flag, and another with, I believe, a Mexican flag (I’m in Canada).
man no lmao sfv works when it works…its fucking magic at times
avoid ALL out of country Kens, Bisons, Abigails and Birdies this is not a joke
edit: on the flipside if the connection stays at 4/5 5/5 for more than few seconds then you should have a great time if you guys plan on doing long sets…anything 3/5 2/5 is a no go
a lot of people play rank religiously but i still stick to BL because I like sets…sadly BL isnt really cutting it anymore…dunno if the population is dying or everyone has ranked up and went to the rank promise lands
Actually, I forgot about a laggy Ken I fought yesterday, but that’s par for the course. Playing Ken comes in the 56k dial-up instruction manual.
i dunno why i said Ken…it’s prob just tradition…he isn’t even the scarriest telepoter in the game anymore
didnt someone make a rollback tier list???
Its not for no apparent reason. Should’ve just brought up the methodology books earlier but I found them on the way to finding other stuff.
The issue is that people have some massive misconceptions about group/cultural behavior. They tend to:
-
Assume there’s no real group behavior a lot of times.
-
Pretend that you can’t define it.
-
Think defining them is arbitrary.
Problem is all three of those are wrong. Not only do we have ways of qualifying and quantifying group behavior, we have ways of defining boundaries to it and they tend not to be arbritrary (even when things can seem grayish at times). One of the professors I studied with was working on a federal petition to recognize a native tribe for federal benefits (which is about as defining a group as you can get).
When it comes to FGC stuff, people got so hungry for any numerical growth that they were willing to accept padding the numbers. That’s when people started saying wacky stuff like “stream monsters are part of the FGC” and “If you’ve bought any fighting game ever, you’re part of the FGC”. Hold on know, there’s a lot of very easily documentable behaviors going on with people in these groups. You can’t just say that the people who bought MK Armaggedon brand new are doing the same thing as the people who were traveling to Evo.
The other important part of acknowledging that those boundaries exist is that you help people enter the group better. A lot of what happened during 09 in SRK had to do with not understanding that there was already a 8 year culture developed in the cite. I remember making an account in 08 and then lurking like a mofo because I figured come 09, things were going to be a shit show (which they were).
So it just is. You can have a pretty good working definition of who is in the communities participating in parts of the FGC. There’s a lot of people who are, there are peopel who aren’t, there are peoples who you can invite in. Just saying that its a w/e thing is a disservice to the people that have been in it because you’re lived experiences with a group have meaning attached to them. You can try and push it away as silly video game stuff, but we also have James Chen and Seth Killian crying at the end of Evo broadcasts. These activities have a lot of meaning to people in the communities at all levels.
Identifying certain core things about the scene earlier on would’ve made certain decisions much different. Didn’t happen though so here we are.
Truthfully, the only time I played BL is with people on here, or sending an invite after a really good set in ranked or casual.
Going to BL randomly has always been a shit-show for me, but that’s maybe because I’m low rank and I sucked when I did.
Cause its funny as fuck.
I mean yeah we could just stick to the facts or do FT10…but that’s boring. I like watching niggas pop off.
true but at least with my suggestion…if you lose the argument you can just say "I WOOPPPED DAT ASS IN THE FT10 THO’
YOU CAN’T ARGUE THAT
Honestly, it’s just rare I play a random Ken where the match isn’t laggy. I just assumed they have trash internet, didn’t think the character itself could’ve been at fault.
To add.
As we’ve discussed before it isn’t so much that SFV runs badly online, it’s that it’s very unstable. There are a large number of variables that clog up the network pipeline to cause rollbacks that don’t make sense.
The most notable of which is, the stage selection. The reason everyone plays on training stage isn’t because they like it so much.
@Akhos has also added that too many button inputs can also cause hiccups. Meaning, to some extent, you can actually mash out a lag spike.
I was playing a Ryu yesterday day where, every time I had him cornered, the game would lock up, and when it recovered he was on the other side of the screen chucking plasma. When you have those moments it really highlights the problems, and they stick out in your memory.
Even KI3 and MK11 have connection/rollback issues from time to time.
We knew this since beta technically, around s1 is when AceKombat and a few players with the tech to test delay figured out a lot of inputs can cause autism.
Me and another player figured out playing windowed and holding “X” (close) can cause a heavy lag spike. The game has always beenn shit but it’s our shit and it taste good.
I mean the only kinds of people i know of who are trying to “not be a pussy” or are worried about tough guy shit are either kids or have never been in any fights.
Which is why I avoid mashing out of stun in BLs with people I know. Sometimes I get caught up, but all it does is shit up the connection.
One of the reasons i stopped playing online with some of my locals was that mashing.
“You just dont want me to get out of dizzy.”
No, just not worth messing up the connection on some silly stuff.
What kind of deluded nonsense are you spewing? It ain’t about being tough, it’s about not devoting energy to the biggest weeb in the thread and getting triggered when he makes a post. Figure that says more about your maturity old man. Crying cause you read too fast and cipher makes you butthurt.
Supposed OG’s getting softer than baby shit.
