Not a fair comparison because for the longest time if you wanted to play Smash, there was only one real option, you’re going to lug that CRT around if you have to get your fix. If you want to play anything other than Smash, there’s too many options to count. It’s just not worth being the guy playing the older games because most people will just move onto the newest one.
Unless you want to be the martyr playing the same 5 guys in online lobbies with zero local scene, you’re not gonna play much SF4.
It’s completely fucking fair. New smash games have released, even competition with rivals of aether and fuckers still playing melee. If it’s something you love, you’ll fucking play it. Smashers will play their shit, air dasher stans will play their shit, SFV shills will play their shit, Marvel heads play their shit.
09ers and anyone else that claims they love SFIV just continue to make pathetic excuses and prove my point. Y’all the biggest fucking frauds and you don’t really love the game.
Rather wax nostalgic than play and bitch bout SFVs popularity in comparison to a deadass game.
What difference does that make? If 1 thing is the really enjoyable to me why would I stop enjoying more of whats to come? Who cares if I compete in it.
Sfv won’t retain large community but I imagine I might boot it once a year to remember how stupid certain things were.
SFV survives on the back of its publisher, sfiv and most FGs before it survived on community. I think that’s the big difference in legacy community staying around.
