Because anti airing people doesn’t really smack them away like in older games. SF5 actually has those goofy bounce states that 3S has where you can technically still juggle people on (which also means you can parry in some instances but still combo in others IIRC) but instead you just EAD in this game.
That’s where you get the differences between the ArcSys and Tekken Philosophy vs Capcom one. With ArcSys/Tekken, you’re going to get refinement over the years without them going to crazy. Capcom on the other hand, is going to make some brand new sort of wild shit every time (some of the core functions but a lot is just way different than other games). this is probably why you find dedicated communities for older capcom entries and nobody gives a fuck about Tekken 6.
I kind of wish Capcom approached SF games as: make sure the basics work like they’re supposed to and then add a bunch of bullshit to it that makes people pull their hair. As long as the SF ground floor is solid, your game can only be so bad. This is why a lot of really crazy games still hold up. People will put up with a bunch of bullshit so long as they feel that playing solid is very much achievable. 3S and CvS2 are full of bullshit but playing solid takes you really far.
SF5 playing solid just makes you shrug and sometimes lose.
