SFV Costumes - What Do You Want to See

Some Sony specific costumes would be cool, like some Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms costumes. Wouldn’t mind seeing a Sony guest character, either, kind of like how they had Infamous’ Cole in SFxT for PS4/Vita. I’d like that kind of thing, even if it’s a dreaded pre-order bonus, Collector’s Edition exclusive, or DLC. Other Capcom franchises should make some type of appearance as well; I really wanted Asura’s Wrath DLC for USFIV.

Not entirely related but I hope that they make a Vita version. They talked about it before, actually. If they could put SSFIV on 3DS as a launch title, I am sure they can squeeze SFV on Vita by 2016.

There’s just so much wrong with this post I can’t even…

Please no
I’m a Sony consoles fan
PS1 and PS2 have been legendary, PS4 look like awesome future

Still, Sony style suck. Ever sucked. Cole suck more than everybody else.

You want make games-tribute?

Excellent, give me Classic Capcom theme DLCs

Like Darkstalkers version of everyone (Ryu-Donovan, Bison-Demitri etc etc) and a Darkstalkers themed stage.
Or Rival School theme
Or All at the same time: DMC,RE,Megaman,FF,Viewtiful Joe,Rival School,Power Stone,Cannon Spike, Strider, Godhand etc etc

But please, not Sony

My eyes still burn from this shit

Classy M. Bison

Chun Li Summer vacation outfit

Chun Li Casual outfit

Ryu:
-SF4 alt #1 but without the ripped attire
-SF2V anime look

Chun-Li:
-Cop attire
-SF4 alt #1
-Alpha attire

Nash:
-Classic look

Cammy:
-Classic look (without the holsters and strap)
-Alpha attire
-Unused alts from the SF4 art book

M. Bison:
-Classic look

That’s all I got for now.

Mangy_Cat
Summer vacation outfit = HECK NO!
Casual = HECK YESSSS!
LOL
Sorry I’m a major hater of most of Chun’s outfits outside the Alpha attire and the affectionately dubbed Evening Gown type dress.

Honestly no matter what character costumes they introduce I hope they are all BELIEVABLE. I really don’t want Panda Ryu or Police Officer Akuma. They should all be in line with who the character is and stuff that the character will believably wear. At least in the beginning after several in-character costumes, then they can started getting crazier and take more creative liberties down the line.

What I would really like to see, is for them to take actual fan suggestions and designs, instead of just letting a couple of guys at Udon do it.

Setting up a workshop like DotA where people can vote on the best fan made costumes would be ideal. The winning costumes would then be sold through Capcom to both the SFV consumers of PS4 and PC.

Hmmmm. snaps fingers Juri in a FROG suit from MGS4 (just altered somewhat for her)

A leopard costume, Sadira’s costume from KI.

Capcom should, but never will, embrace modding. DMC4:SE would have been a great game to open up to freely allow modding instead of closing it up more with file type changes. @Dantarion expect SF5 will be encrypted since many new FGs have been and will likely made graphics mods hard to do except for like texmod texture replacements (but no actual new costumes). It’d also likely make gameplay modding impossible or close to it :frowning:

I know I’ve posted this before in the SF4 section but if Hugo is included:

Seriously.

Though the other one that’d be cool are is Andore Jr’s FF2 outfit

Or of course the one he should have had in SF4

Maybe even with a short hair look!

If Cody is included obviously his classic Final Fight outfit (unless that turns out to be his default). I really want something inspired by Tom Cody from Streets of Fire though, not exactly the outfit but something like it. Cody would look good in a basic button shirt and duster I think. God, anything but the terrible costumes he’s gotten in SF4, lol.

If Alex is in, he really should have something inspired by Macho Man given the fact Alex was himself inspired by Hulk Hogan.

Imagine how awesome Flash Chop and Slash Elbow would look with those tassels!

Speaking about who i believe have really high chances to be in:

KEN- I hope his alt is this

Becuase i hope they change his basic standard design, to push him a lil bit more far from Ryu

Some design keypoints must stay, or they ruin the iconic image of the character… example blond kinda long hairs, red main color etc
I will like if they make him with usual large red karate pants and black belt, but with something more western/modern as top piece, maybe

or

It will make his design line more heavy on the legs section, wich can work nice to show that he’s the kicks shoto.
Also i will like they rework a lil bit hair too, maybe an high ponytail

This imho will push him more far from Ryu and show that time passed, but he will keep look like iconic Ken

AKUMA- If he must be in (and sadly i think he will), PLEASE, at least on standard design push him away as possible from shoto-look
Something a la SC5 Mitsu can be perfect

ALEX- Rocky Jacket or MMA costume, official artwork by Capcom

JURI- Something like that. Also, long hairs Juri FTW

URIEN- Spartacus(tv series)-like gladiator costume or Agrippa (Shadow of Rome, PS2 Capcom game)

R.MIKA- Keep her sexy, but maybe as alt second costume they can give her a more classic pro wrestler look. As alternative i can accept a lingerie football costume

I have an idea to give more definition on fighter costumes

Make characters models have different interaction on damages.

Here are some of Tekken ITEM MOVES from Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag 2.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FZlrIHOylo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwLw8GOGfZo
**
Since TEKKEN HAD ITEM MOVES that can affect the battle while Street fighter would be different and better by using battle damage interaction which is one per costume with Specific TRIGGERS. I remember during the early development of vanila SF4 their were design about this stuff and plans.**

BATTLE INTERACTION DAMAGE TYPE: = each costume had only “One” TRIGGER. **
**
THE COSTUME IS RESPONSIVE TO SPECIFIC ATTACK THAT WILL ACTIVATE THE TRIGGER

A.) Trigger during “Heavy Damage hit” or Critical Hit interaction

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qCoQ82M_oU

Falling Items like akuma in SFEX when heavy hitted effect his necklace beads falls and scathered.

B.) Trigger during “Low life bar” = Battle Bruise and Posture Change in face.

Stance change or battle bruise when low life

Difference.

C.) Triggering during “Knock Down” = creates minor Torn, dirty or stain on Costume

While for Ryu or someone with bright or neon colored costume it gets dirtier each time they are knockdown in fighting.

D.) Trigger during “Knock Out” = trigger after finishing a round.

When the your fighter gets a knock out in battle.

Ryu: Gallon
Chun-li: Morrigan
Nash: Victor
Vega: Demitri
Birdie: Zabel Zarock
Cammy: Q-Bee

@Eternal SFV will be on Unreal 4. Unreal engine has always been mod friendly.

Is it weird that I like that art with straight hair Juri much more than her official version in SF4?

Not always. UE3 has plenty of games locked up very tightly. It’s a matter of how they put it all together and what proprietary technology they incorporate through engine modding. Bioshock series has never been terribly moddable. Borderlands 1 was moddable and then borderlands 2 was extremely unfriendly to modding because they heavily tweaked the unreal engine specifically for the game and they never released their version of the UDK which would be needed to mod it even for graphic mods beyond texmod.

Capcom could include encryption of their stuff. They could even go so far as to use IronWrapper http://www.gameshield.com/product/Ironwrap to make sure it’s not moddable.

In USF4 Capcom had actually added a cryptopp.dll file that verified every character’s data file and if the file didn’t match up exactly with the check list then it would hang during the load screen. Thankfully this was easily circumvented due to the simplicity of the file, but they showed interest in encryption and file verification to prevent gameplay modding.

The engine itself can be friendly to modding without the games being friendly.

On top of extra skins, I’d like to see a colour edit mode and/or a costume edit mode where you can customize how characters look. I spent a lot of time in VF5 just making alts.

That sounds great, right up until you start facing all black or all Red characters on a dark background stage. Or you get stuff like the full neon characters in SFxT.
