Iâm just saying if a decision were made to include a good amount of characters from 3, at least make it all the good characters from 3. Of course the low tiers could be rebalanced to make them better, and their stories could be elaborated upon (except for maybe Remy since heâs just a little emo kid in bellbottoms). And I think an SF5 redesigned Yun or Yang etc would be more interesting than an SF5 Remy, Q, Alex, or Tweleve (as much as I love low tier).
Yeah I had that impression even though I only play and follow 4 casually. And a fair amount of people I know who are super into 3s dislike fighting vs her. Not sure what people feel in SFxT but I have my suspicions already!
Actually, Iâm curious as to who Remyâs dad is. Kinda sucks that Remyâs hot sister is dead and trapped in ice, but thatâs how the cookie crumbles. So I want to know if his dad really is a deadbeat asshole thatâs world warrior status and hella strong or not. Instead of Remy in the game, they can just put Remyâs dad or something.
Thinking about it, I think Iâd be cool with one of the twins but I think their appearance was really saturated with the SFIV series. So I can picture them not returning due to how prevalent they are on the USFIV tournament circuit. A re-imagining would be dope, but then again they can pull out their uncle Lee from SFI that had the original lunge punch. Itâd be cool to have some ârefinedâ and âmasterfulâ version of the twinsâ move sets embodied by Lee.
SFxT people didnât really care about her at any point. They changed a lot about her in SF4. Her normals are a lot faster and she has more combos, also healing is obnoxious.
Still SF5 is some sort of compromise between SF3 and SF4, treading into new territory not seen in the SF games. Yun would be way more fair in SF5 than he was in 3 or 4. Like if he didnât have genei-jin and instead had 3 stocks of EX, he could use those in the style of T Hawk in SF4 where you could string EX specials together.
But at the simple fact that he wouldnât be able to runaway and build meter from whiffing strong, and he wouldnât have as much opportunity for set play would make him a more interesting version of the character who still plays familiar and could still be strong given what all his tools are. Like not even target combos had a place in Yunâs arsenal because there were so many other buttons you could press for better damage. Iâd like a reversion to that sort of simplicity.
I really liked Yun in CVS2. His cr.HP was an actually legit anti-air, his pokes were generally good, he couldnât abuse dive kick since it wasnât as good, especially on fat crouching characters. His strength was his footsies (and I guess RC command throw, RC up kick, RC palm, RC lunge punch if you played him in C/A/N Grooves). The only thing that made him bad was overall meterless damage output and low health, but he had the fundamental tools to win. He was the most fun Yun to play for me.
surely guile has to be in this game from a story standpoint, doesnât he? even if he doesnât make the playable roster i feel like it would just seem a bit weird to leave him out what with the whole bison/charlie thing going on. weâve already seen that ken/ryu are more different than theyâve ever been and we know that charlie is no longer a charge character, so is that a hint to guile being in? yes i did main him in sf4 but itâs not about that for me. if heâs not in iâve decided iâm maining bison or whoever the best charge character is lol.
The thing is, it seems like Capcom is going to do story mode differently than what they had did in SFxT and SFIV series. Matt Dahlgren said they are doing something different, but will announce what it is at a different date (I guess due to marketing schedules.)
So we can have characters that appear in story mode that serve important roles without being actually playable in the cast. So I can imagine Guile being non-playable in SFV while being a key figure to the story. Itâs kind of like how Blazblue and Guilty Gear have story modes in which there are super important characters that are pivotal in the plot but arenât playable yet or wonât be playable.
In due time weâll see where they go with story mode and character importance.
I can see that
So they will just have to do the characters models/voices/cutscene animations, and they can leave the moveset/balancing big work to later when they introduce them as DLC update
Each wave of dlc characters can be treat as a new chapter of the story
Yeah but she almost never comes up in any tournaments Iâve seen. Elena in SF4 has had ups and downs and still shows up currently. Many players have stated she is an extremely good counter pick vs specific characters.
They didnât have Fei Long in the movie âStreet Fighterâ. Maybe because in this movie Ryu kinda fought like Bruce Lee.
Captain Sawada was the replacement for Fei Long and is a playable character in the game Street Fighter - The Movie.
