Oni is just as wack as ingrid, that dragonball kai, we need silver mane akuma in a coat made out of polar bear skin and the ability to use his beads, get rid of that fireball, let us use his beads in various ways like rose does and we got goty. Akuma needs to be chief thunderin everybody at this point.
Honestly, even if I wasnât apart of the Ingrid Army, the salt is enough. Itâd be even more funnier if Ingrid was Top Tier or embodied some play style everyone hated like El Fuerte.
Come on capcom, I know Iâm in the minority here, but give me one good character that everyone hates, please?
In my opinion I feel Ingrid is ok for future DLC but not for the Initial roster, I think Juri, Alex, Urien and R.Mika fit a lot more in SFV and are the best options for the last spots to make SFV really solid and fair game.
He is among the 4 best characters in CvS2 (Sakura, Sagat, Bison, Blanka) unless you count boss characters banned in tournaments (God Rugal, Shin Akuma, Evil Ryu, Orochi Iori)
A tad off-topic, but what made the console characters so good? I know God/Shin had idiotic damage, but their health was worse than Sethâs relative to everyone else. Idk about Evil or Orochi.
E. ryu had a block infinite with his air hurricane because it would hit people crouching and it was the HF style horizontal one. So basically meterless Sho-Sho if you could set it up. Shin Akuma actually wasnât that great but if he caught you standing also had j. fireball infinites on most of the cast. Meterless 2 air fireballs was a problem for some characters though so he had some like 8-2 matchups for him but donât think he was OP, just had a lot of options. Personally shin akumaâs life was too shit imo for him to be greater but e. ryu was frightening definitely better than Ken who was upper tier.
God Rugal and Orochi Iori donât really know much about them. Iori was good and rugal honestly wasnât terrible, so if they were better than their non-evil counterparts it would have been an issue for people that played in arcades back then. They were banned more because they didnât exist in the arcade then that they were broken because back then alot of the competitive community still had arcades.
Watching some randoms playing God Rugal and it looks like he has normal health or close to it unlike Shin Akuma, also his teleports look like they have almost zero recovery. He has a Raging Demon that does ~85-90% damage vs Kim and another super that does ~70-75% in C groove.
Orochi Iori also looks to have normal health but I dunno anything else about what might make him scary.
Speaking of âEvilâ characters I REALLY hope there is no instances of âEvil XYZâ in SFV. No Evil Sakura/Violent Ken/Evil Ryu/Shin Akuma/ect.
The only way I can imagine Evil Ryu getting into the game coming on the heels of SF4 is if he were a skin for Ryu, or maybe part of some kind of âvariantâ system way down the road. Not as his own separate character. I mean, based on what we know, his inclusion as a separate character seems so unlikely that Iâd probably expect an EX character before him if you forced me to bet.
I think Necalli and Akuma will have that angle covered, so you donât really need one. But if there was one, Sakura going through her own struggle with it could make sense only because thereâs not much else you can do with her character besides making her into Ryu. And if they did go the dark side route, which I still wouldnât bet on, it would probably be her default version, not a separate character.
Akumaâs V Trigger will probably be âSatsui No Hadouâ and it will either be like Bisonâs where all his specials become âshinâ. Alternatively he could go the Necalli route, where he goes all Oni on us for the rest of the round (but that is a bit too similar to Necalli visually speaking) and becomes an offensive monster but takes more damage.
I also think Akumaâs V Reversal will probably be Ashura Senku (teleport) like Nash or his dash in V trigger. They seemed to have gotten rid of 3P and 3K inputs. Bisonâs teleport was reimagined and adapted for his V Trigger. I believe Akuma will also lose his teleport and it will be incorporated into the V System in some way as to avoid overlap of commands.
Oh and maybe this state would also up his glass canon status? Like, really getting across the idea that heâs putting it all on the line now. Iâm thinking even lower defense for waaaaay more bitchin options.
Since Ryu and Ken both have buff supers, itâd be more interesting if Akuma had something else. If he did have something like that, though, I think access to some Oni specials would be the more interesting route, given Akumaâs tendency for air-based special moves.
It would be weird if he had a Shin Akuma activation like that. Itâs not actually a transformation, so why would he only take you seriously for a few seconds, and then stop?
