This aint no anime game. We keep the men fighting in the ring in SF. The way it should be. I mean even Marvel 3 you can’t have 3 girls on the same team and make a good team. You need a man to tell them wtf they should be doing.
I think they’d be throwing us a wrench at this point if the last 3 characters with the green background weren’t also characters that were in SF2. If the first 3 characters were in SF2 and then they threw Sodom, Rolento or Gen in there, then that would make sense. With the first 5 characters being staples from SF2, I would assume the last 3 would also be those that have also appeared in SF2. Would be weird to just throw other stuff in the middle of that at this point.
To be fair (and hopeful), I don’t think they specifically said they’d be in the initial roster. Their rumors might be talking about them being DLC, but we’ll see.

I did it to parody @Ouroborus a guy from the Marvel 3 forums who would purposely troll and talk shit about any of the anime characters in Marvel 3. Playing teams with more American or manly characters like Wesker and Magneto was better for him than playing anime shit like Zero, Viper and Morrigan LOL. People started making serious concerns and statistics about the lack of women in SF so I figured I would just troll about it instead since it’s more fun than worrying about stuff like that. I mained Ibuki in 3S and Viper in SFIV and Marvel so i usually play girls myself. My brother is an anime game player and uses girls in most of those games.
It’s kind of expected for SF to not have a lot of girls. SF1 and 2 came out during a time where I’m sure Capcom was finding ways to sell to Western audiences who probably wanted more macho looking characters in their games at that time. When Final Fight hit Super Nintendo they had to remove the women from the game because that was looked upon as “abusing women” supposedly and that’s how Poison is as confused of a character as she is now.
SF is always going to have a large male roster just due to its roots and how many iconic characters were already made to be male. Starting off with a male character as the first new to SF5 fits in line with the theme of SF. When Vanilla first hit arcades Viper was the only new female to the IP and was also criticized for looking too “anime/SNK”.
Haha, yeah I can’t troll for that long. I probably would have just left the thread after that post and let things fly if I really wanted to troll. I’m just hoping I’m right about the 8 SF2 characters and 4 Alpha characters for launch so I can come in and say I KNEW IT and be right and stuff. I’m having a big feeling no SF3 characters will hit launch when 5 SF2’s are already in.
I mean there’s even lower percentages in this game for blacks, gays, lesbians and bis if you’re looking at stuff like that. I think supposedly Gief and Eagle are gay in the canon (Eagle says a lot of really queer stuff to the guys in CVS2 that was edited from the US games), Juri is supposedly lesbian/bi or just very very curious (similar to Taokaka and her booby fetish in Blazblue).
I like that they kept Birdie as a “black” guy. Gets the token african descent guy out of the way and since he’s a biker/street gang looking guy it takes him out of the stereotype of having to be a basketball player, a boxer/kickboxer or rhythmic music aficionado just because his skin is dark.
I’m really hoping Guile appears since I need to see how he responds to the fact Charlie is on some Vegeta/Kratos/Wolverine shit in terms of getting revenge and threatening people who have the audacity to tell him that he’s being a creepy and violent asshole.
I also like that the Zenny has Bison on it. Pretty much Bipson Dollars. I think I’ll purposely just buy some Zenny just so I can have them sitting around and bet someone during a stream with them.
Fight money is more low key since that is only grinding/video game money. Zenny/Bipson Dollars require real money to purchase even though they do the same thing as the fight money. Probably just hold much more value towards purchasing something so you can get things quicker like in a MOBA.
Not sure if you can bet Zenny though. I mean, it’s basically a premium currency, wouldn’t want it to go to waste after losing a wager, would you? Especially if we’re talking about large amounts
It’s basically the same as being in the crowd during an Evo tournament and betting real money there. There’s people that regularly bet 100’s of dollars during one major tournament on top 8 matches. That’s the whole point is to bet actual funds rather than just playing it safe with the fake money. Zenny/Bipson dollars are more pimped out and put more on the line.
I’m not a super baller though. I would probably just bet like 10 or 20 Zenny every once in a while. I’m sure there’s going to be guys on streams that just purposely buy up Zenny to look cool and shit. Like KI’s Gold, even if you’re buying everything with standard fight money, the Zenny is effectively like a donation to Capcom if you don’t do anything with it.
