I tried following that Have-Disk method… and it didn’t work out… i followed the steps all the way through:
-extract the driver folder, copy and pasted the modded inf in that folder making sure to replace the original inf.
-Update the Display adapter with that modded inf…
-Instead of the computer recognizing the driver i selected, the only compatible driver that was available was my stock graphics card the 320m… I unchecked the “show only compatible drivers” and i got a ton of drivers but I never installed them because I was afraid this would do some nasty damage to my display… yeah so it would only let me install the 320m This sucks ass.
Did you ever get it running? I tried myself on a older 2009 Unibody. No problems with the install, but as expected until I turned down all the settings way down, its was a slideshow. With everything turned down it ran fine, but looked like crap. Oh well, its a laptop.
So I know you tried a bunch of things, but I believe the simplest solutions are the most effective. I installed Windows via bootcamp. After my first boot into windows, I inserted the MacOSX disc and installed all the drivers. I ran windows update (including options). Last thing I did was go to the Nvidia website and download the latest display drivers. Install of the game initial boot up occured without incident.
I bought my copy of SFIVPC via Steam, not sure if that makes any difference in the install. It’s true that the drivers on the OSX disc are old but I rather have an old driver then have one missing, you can update later.
