Frank, I can give you a LOT of information on how to run this style of competition. We did this sort of thing for YEARS with CS. It was ran by TWL, pretty shitty league competition wise, but they had the right idea.
I’ll give you more in-depth material on Saturday (Unless you’re going to be all Reunioned out).
To answer pablo’s question from the sign up thread:
I’m looking to set it up so that rounds span for 2 weeks. Depending on how many teams we have will determine how many matches we’ll get in per day:
Example for 8 teams (A-H)
Week 1: A vs I (friday) G vs C (friday)
Week 2: B vs D (thursday) C vs E (thursday)
If we got 16 teams (A-O)
Week:1 A vs N (tuesday) O vs F (friday) L vs J (wednesday) B vs C (friday)
Week 2: D vs M (friday) E vs I(friday) H vs G (friday) K vs P (saturday)
I’m going to do my best to like try and accomidate the teams to see which day is best for each match (explains the week between rounds so the captains can talk to each other and find out what day is best for them). If something can’t be decided then the week after the round could be used as a make up week, but as I stated before if the whole team cannot be there for the make up day then they’ll have to play with who they have.
