SFIV League PLEASE REREAD FIRST POST! IMPORTANT!

I call Elias on my team.

team 3 and out!!! yeah i’m callin’ dibs.

Row/Mark/Kyle - Team beat your ass with no practice.

LOL sad but true

My team is gonna be team silvercoin. Sup? Who wants some.

So your team is owned by Korean people who don’t know the first thing about maintaining video games, haven’t updated their catalog of machines since 2002, doesn’t give out benefits to anyone, and thrives on redemption/ticket games and gives out prizes you can get at the dollar store?

Lol. dude southcenter silvercoin was the best. Idc about those.cheap prizes but the scene there was dope as hell and anyone who was there on a regular basis knows whats up.

I wouldn’t really “call dibs” on a person for a team, like if you want to form a team and be the captain then you could ask around to those that you are interested in, but like it’s not a forced decision “you’re on my team deal with it mwahahahahaha!”.

Also I’m thinking about the entry fee too. I’m pressing towards 60/team. It sounds a bit steep, but for how many games you’ll be playing 20 a person seems reasonable. Plus I would like to get trophies for top 3 (9 trophies total), and of course cash prizes for top 3 as well.

Oh no doubt. Southcenter Silvercoin was the shit. Everyone’s Marvel career started there with Rattana taking all of our money. I drove all the way out there from here to go out there and play the best because my brother and I cleaned out the competition in Silverdale.

I was just referring to that location, the BEST location of the three, closing down because the owner at the time didn’t want to travel that far from Port Ludlow where he lived to do business. Now the Silverdale and Burlington locations are still up and running, albeit horribly. The Silverdale location hasn’t updated their games since Dubya’s FIRST term, their existing games are in horrible condition, and 98% of the people in there are only there for the ticket games.

Arcades are dead.

Anyway, back on topic:

$60/team sounds reasonable. I’d maybe decrease that if there are more than x teams that show a lot of interest and want to keep going to these events. Would there be an event like every month? Every week?

I think it would depend on how many teams there were, ultimately I’d want all scheduled games to be finish within 2 weeks time. I’d probably will need some people to help run some sets here and there because of my work schedule. So if we had say 8 teams in the league I’d like to schedule something like:

Round 1 -
Matchups:
A vs C 1st week (fri)
D vs I 2nd week (wed)
G vs F 1st week (fri)
E vs B 2nd week (wed)

Of course 8 teams would be pretty easy, but I think with around 50 ppl showing up to zach’s, I’d say we could get 45 ppl interedted @ least, so that’s be 15 teams. With a schedule for that many teams it’d be a bit more challenging:

Round 1 -
O vs F week 1 (sat)
J vs A week 1 (fri)
B vs M week 1 (fri)
C vs E week 2 (mon)
L vs N week 2 (mon)
D vs G week 1 (sat
F vs K week 2 (thurs)
H bye (no points awarded, all teams would get a bye in this case).

I guess I’ll have to see how many teams we’ll have first. To help things move along if you have a team (as in you talked to your other 2 teammates and are ALL interested and committed to this) shoot me a pm. I don’t need team names or anything like that. It’s pretty much a head count.

Also if you are already on a team don’t go with another team, or if you are approached by 2 different teams you’ll have to pick one. Remember it’s just a head count.

Whatever you do, don’t pick me.

I’m not planning to go to ANY sessions on work nights (Sat-Wed)… Unless they are within a 30 minute drive, and I’d be there for the Tournament War pretty much only.

I’m getting my personal life back. :stuck_out_tongue:

  This is Street Fighter, homie. THIS IS your personal life.

Nah, that’s cool though. I’ve come to terms with my downgrade in Street Fighter dedication. I had my 4 to 5-year run with Mahvel and I’m good. I’m a casual player now. I don’t have the drive to keep going in fighting games the way most of the Seattle crew does. I’ll still play, but not at that elite level of skill and dedication I once had.

Well, I plan to be dedicated and all, just I’m trying to go out on dates and shit. The only thing is SF4 seems to take up Sun-Sat most of the time. I plan to take a step-back and just play on my own time. I don’t play by anyones rules, not even my own.

Well Im definately abel (pun) to put the time into a team, count me in for the headcount although I haven’t gotten a team yet.

Hm, I’m down for the idea. Hopefully I can find time to show up for matches if I’m on a team. … Or if i get to captain a team of my own, that’d be pretty sick.

Question: Would there any way for some league matches to be conducted online as well since it’d be kind of hard to coordinate everyone’s schedules (at least that’s what i think)?

Perfect example of trying to pick a good time for everyone. The days for the sets won’t be set in stone. And chances are the matches would last like 30 min. tops ( at most 5 games per set).

I guess to put it simple, the events will be like a sporting event…E-sporting event? I need to get a hold of a good camera for footage (crowd reactions, game footage, players reactions during the match etc.

You should start a team. I know you’ve got dudes you’re levelling up. Dudes that destroy me online and shit.

Fuck… We have to have someone rep Seth in this shit.

Team New Wave
Console Kidz (Console Characters, naw mean?!)

I also like
MudkipManiacs!
Sloppyjoes
W.U.U. Tang Clan (Wake Up Ultra)
Sunnyside Fuck

If you need team name ideas, ask anyone who’s been to a Hotness, I come up with some weird shit just based on characters used on your team or your aliases.

The Tic-tacs ~We are here because your breath STANKS!

Edit: If you want me on your team, you better Grind my gears, because I don’t like losing. If you end up beating me, I will become your #1 rival!

P.S. Gonna play some Online for a bit. If you can invite me, do work!

I’m down for this. This is exactly like a pool or bowling league. I’ve played in alot of leagues, so I can offer some suggestions for this. 20 bucks ain’t nothing compared to having weeks and weeks of play. And the leveling factor is immeassurable. You wanna be serious, you come to the events and show ppl what you got. I aint good, but you can only get better by playing better people. Pool leagues travel, so it shouldn’t be a big issue.

Even if I do start a team, I’d still need a 3rd member of the team. If you’re lookin’ to level up, seriously I’m down for teachin’, you just gotta be down for the serious because of the team I’m thinkin’ of, pretty well rounded in terms of characters.
