It was a very smart move from the Ryu player. I think the Ryu player was intending on trying to win with chip damage, but Ino threw a short out after the 2nd SADC. So who knows he might’ve tried to bait it out too.
if i was the ryu player, i would be frustrated because i was looking for a poke back after a jab, delay uppercut, jab delay uppercut and still nothing comes out lol

LOL damn i just saw this post now sorry mike, i’ve been pretty busy so i just take quick looks at posts lately and not replying =(. as for your post earlier, i gotta agree with you that i dont think like what a real player should and thats what i gotta work on. and yeah i dont think there’s going to be any nerfing going on for the console version yet, maybe for the next ARCADE VERSION LOL (thats what the jap guy told me, and thats just a maybe.) i myself dont mind some sagat nerfing because just look at me vs nolan match, 2x f+rh into ex fireball did like 50 percent on his viper.
he also taught me something that only the jap guys know so far, not sure if its reliable at all, but i posted at the m.bison thread so maybe frank would be interested to check it out or other bison users. he told me that SA lv2 in this game can actually beat someone’s wakeup uppercut…not sure if its true either, but a lot of times i tried to wakeup uppercut on this guy’s bison i take it like a bitch lol. so let me clear this up a bit, i’m not really on the japanese cock or anything, but like cvs2 they found out about roll cancel and beat the fuck out of us, we still have to at least KNOW how to counter it in order to win. just sharing what i know with u guy slol
i always had respect for japanese as a kid growing up playing SF2 and i still do, yea sometimes that seems like fanboyism but trust me its far from it. i joined srk 6 months ago and before that i only knew one japanese player name, daigo. any japanese arcade i walk into, when i leave they will scratch their head and wonder what the fuck just happened. japan is not law but US pride doesnt make the US law either. the japanese came up with their list simply based on how the game is played there and what they see possible with each character even if the top players on capcom’s ranking board are using other characters.
whether we like it ot not, the game on a whole is played at a higher level in japan. not saying the top japanese players are better than the top US players but look at it this way, stuff you will see everyone doing at an arcade in japan is not the same as stuff you would be seeing everyone doing at an arcade in the US, i think thats the biggest difference. why can wong still rack up nasty win streaks in NYC chinatown, there is a big gap between him and the average players there so yea maybe HE is playing on a higher level but on a whole all the players are not. same with a lot of the other arcades in the US. its a little different in japan, even with top players.
a lot of people on here cant seriously keep a straight face and say they havent learned anything in SF4 from the japanese. dudes crying on here when they cant see a match vid on a japanese site or going out their way to spend $40 on a $7 magazine because it got a couple japanese match vids, yea sure they just dont have access to sf4 and just want to see vids from anywhere. just browsing throught the character threads, you can tell that people are surely learning from the japanese and yea i also think its sad but thats just the way it is. dont blame japan, blame the internet. why bother creating your own playstyle or figure out something for yourself when you can just watch japanese vids, do the same shit and bash them at the same time? a lot time i see stuff mentioned in threads and lazy ass dudes dont read but weeks or months later someone post a japanese vid of the same shit and its straight d-riding like its new. i still see dudes asking in the ryu thread about stuff i mentioned a week after the game came out.
here’s what i know about BP (battle points). if youre real good and have no life then you will have a lot of bp. just take a look at how many matches those top players on the ranking board have played. there are a lot of really good players who only get a couple matches in on the weekends so they’ll never be on those boards. i went to shibuya sportsland for the first time last week, i was beating 50000bp boxers and losing to a 20000bp vipers. it surely goes down to player vs player and match up. that viper will always have low bp playing in that arcade because boxer punches her in her face twice and she lose like 40% health but that dude had a really good viper for 20000bp and i’ve played 40000+ vipers who werent as difficult to take out. another thing about BP is that its a lot more difficult to raise your bp if youre starting out now and using a new character unless youre beating stronger characters on the regular and not losing to them. my guile has 25000bp, for me to really move up, i got two choices, constantly beat the master and grandmasters “without losing” which is almost impossible or play people with the same amount of bp and lose/gain the same amount of bp when you win/lose. its difficult to explain the whole bp system but just remember that those 20 players are not the 20 best sf4 players in japan. all it takes for that to change is for one guy on there to not play for a couple days and he’ll fall off the ranking board. if you know youre good, the best way to know if another player is better than you are is to play them a couple a couple times.
Turns out that was the GF’s to only the Sony Tourney, Joe went on to win that and decimate the Microsoft rep who lost with boxer then switched to Honda? So Joe the guy from like New York or Jersey won the whole thing taking it home for Sony, or at least that’s how I heard it.
