SFIV FightSTick

Is anyone planning on getting the standard edition fightstick when they come out ?? i want to since they’re cheap, but not sure about quality since it’s made by madcatz. I actually heard on different websites that it handles pretty well.

I believe MarkMan made these too and if so, I’m sure you’re safe. I find it to be a great alternative for someone who can’t get a TE stick and is on a budget. Plus its easy to swap buttons. I say go for it. I’m not getting one though since I already have a HRAP3 but if I was in your shoes…which I was a while ago, I’d get the regular fightstick. It’ll be better than Hori’s Fighting Stick 3 and Fighting Stick EX2.

So the button’s are quick disconnect and uses the same pcb as the TE stick? I remember a couple of days back people were trying to discuss that, but came up with no direct answer.

GS Product page says yes

You should be fine with the non-TE sticks as the pre-order page at Gamestop says the stick uses quick connect buttons.

That’s good to hear. I think i’m going to get this stick with the intention of gradually modding it later. I’m kinda on a budget at the moment. I hope the artwork will be relatively easy to mod too. It would be sweet if somebody with photoshop skills made a vewlix panel for it. I think I would be set for a while if all of this is possible.

There’s already that giant FightStick/TE thread… so this seems a little redundant. However, might I suggest that we use this thread to detail the mods done on the standard FightStick once it comes out?

It’d be great to have such a resource since I think a lot of us are in the same boat as you, NeptraK. I, for one, plan to drop a DualShock in it.

If we can keep this thread focused/devoid of meaningless banter… and use it for showing off mods/giving tutorials… that’d be very awesome in my book.

Then again… it’s not my tread to make that call.

what dualshock are you talkin about? only one i can think of is the playstation controller.

They’re not QD’s.

I’m tempted to get one, but I already have the SC4 Hori EX2, and I’m not yet sure if this is $80 better for me (I’m not going to be competing in any tournaments most likely, unless they’re online).

If anyone has hands-on experience with both the FightStick and the Hori EX2, I’d love to hear your impressions.

Are you 100% sure?

There are posts from all sides saying it has and has no quick disconnect buttons.

What is the truth?

so far everything that’s been shown about the normal stick have been said to have the same insides as the TE sticks, which would mean QD’s.

Surely these aren’t quick disconnect buttons right?

lol…

hmm they are, maybe i’ll just drop the obsf-30’s in these than the hrap ex

sweet deal. In for one now.

How easy will it be to slap on custom artwork on the SE? Is there a top panel or is the artwork simply printed on the stick?

I believe the artwork is actually printed on the stick, but I could be wrong.

It is a decal on top of the stick for the standard stick. You’d have to print out/apply your own decal if you want to change art.

Dang.

MarkMan… I love you. Thanks for (re?)posting the guts of the standard FightStick.

That looks hecka spacious for dropping a DualShock PCB in. (Oh… mobber… I’m shooting to pick up a PSX/PSOne DualShock Series-A so I can do the solderless padhack.)

=DDD that saves me having to dig through the 200 page thread. Thanks for the pics. I’m looking forward to dropping some happ competition buttons, in there. I was just wondering tho what the stock stick will be like. I’m too lazy to buy a whole Sanwa JLW and was wondering the stock stick will take a bat top replacement or take a sanwa gate. I know the TE is supposed to be all sanwa parts but even if the fightstick isn’t, maybe they’re still cheaper interchangeable knockoffs <_<

how easy would it be to put a jlf in that stick?
