I want her jump landing to be faster or springy and less floaty but not as fast as it is in the test. Maybe 3-4 frames faster instead of 6 frames faster… so I hope that it’s not reverted it back completely…
but idk if they decided to give us a jump like that ill use it. Is going to be a pain in the ass re-learning all the bloody set ups, but w/e
I could go either way whether it stays or goes (hopefully in exchange for a proper Ultra 1 juggle in the corner). When I get to try the location test, I ain’t saying a damn thing about a buff being too strong for Chun though:
I’ma just be like “Yup, I like it”.
@ Darklightjg1
Actually, I agree with your comment… "I’ma just be like “Yup, I like it”."
I just like all the buffs that have been added and hope that they fix the U1 juggle…
I honestly don’t believe that Chun will be the top 3 in this iteration either as there are other mid tier characters that are getting buffed which I can see she will have problems. She will be top 10 for sure.
I was wondering about that.
I guess then that doing EX Kikoken FADC U2 would also connect?
I don’t think so. The knockdown height for EX Kikoken isn’t that high so I don’t see U2 starting up in time. Maybe if you could FADC before or during the first hit of EX Kikoken and could get U2 out as the second hit was coming out. Maybe.
Works depending on range, also works if you are using ex kikouken to blast through someones fireball if you’re close enough.
Give chun li a better range for cr mk please xD ! I don’t care for Ultra 1 juggles, good df+lk, better jump, more stamina, etc.
Maybe you’re just not used to it? I mean it’s 35 frames like vega, juri etc. And juri has excellent air normal too and anti air, nothing game breaking for chun; there is still many characters with faster jump than that, like blanka, adon, yun, yang. Chun’s is just mind blowing because it was so slow before. People, dont forget that all character are getting buffed plus new characters look at ken, or Rolento who is top tier for sure, and we were almost bottom tiers so we need that much to catch up after everyone get buffed.
Now she we’ll dominate air and since df.lk is back but not as good as super, it’s a good trade.
Like I said, fastest walk speed + best normals + best jump + hazanshu + df.lk = too much.
Trust me, Chun is strong enough in usf4 without a broken jump.
Well I hope they come in france so I can test that. But no disrespect skatan, I just think that chun in super was not even S tiers, now with a not as good df.lk and a good jump (not the best) when everyone else is getting buffed, she’s op? This is like the only srk forum where people ask for nerf for their character before the game is out.
I’d put it like this:
That jump is in addition to her really good air normals. I can see it giving people a lot of trouble off of that alone. IF there’s going to be an inevitable update after USF4 (which we don’t know what the plan is on that yet), I think Chun Li having that jump along with the other stuff would put her on the chopping block for being over-nerfed (people are going to complain. We can’t pretend they won’t). But I think without it, she’d be mostly safe from being complained about too much to risk nerfing her.
If no update (i.e. they move on to SF5), then hell yeah I’ll take the jump.
My stance at the location tests though will still be not snitching on the character for better or for worse.
Thats the new metagame of capcom fighters, don’t let your character get too buffed or the update after the update will result in massive nerfing.
It would have worked if you traded fierce…
I don’t want to fight the Ultra Guile matchup with the floaty jump.
Big difference.
It’s not about having a broken character that you can abuse, it’s about having a balanced game that’s fun to play.
On the same coin we might as well leave unblockables in the game because it makes it easier to win without putting in effort.
I agree that it might put us on the radar for a future nerf bat because it’s a visible change but we can’t live in fear like that, we mustnt be afraid to have a top tier character especially when all characters are going to fight for that spot.
I looked at that jump and actually it has been sped up only in the descending part of the jump so it wont change anything in air to air, it just mean that we’ll be able to punish a fireball like every other character with a jump in instead of being AA everytime, there is nothing op in it. That jump plus the 50 damage on ultra 2, mean ultra W can be a possibility now.
And did you see ultra sim buffs? man, there so many characters that are going to fight for the top spot now, sim, ken, gief, rolento, poison, oni, sagat, guile, chun, yang and that’s without mentionning the old top tiers like cammy seth etc
Does that make her broken though? Who would she absolutely dominate with it? It’s not like it’s lining up 7-3s.
She’s losing to Guile. Free. Without it.
Balrog getting that new dash punch… Other characters are coming down on his head with guaranteed damage. We’re doing block strings.
Doesn’t matter what they change boxers dash punch to on block, you can still use focus dash, c.hp x legs to punish it.
He’s talking about other characters’ pressure on Guile vs. Chun’s, if I’m comprehending him right.
But why would you be jumping at Guile in the first place? His air throw already beats most of Chun’s options anyway, from what I’ve experienced in practice, and if he stays grounded, he’s usually going to have a charge for FK.
Yes, a quicker jump makes for less of a reaction time, but I don’t think it’s going to change much on my views that jumping against Guile is going to lead to a bad time.
