That reminds me: Check if EX HSU has any change in the way it moves (like tracking where the opponent is for example).
Some people will be testing earlier than I’ll be able to, but I’ll write down whatever doesn’t get reported down and test what I can, keeping in mind that some of it is character specific and depending on the person (people?) I’ll be playing against during testing.
Are these to see if the dash is faster from rfadc/dash cancel is earlier than regular focus?
Much of the talk I’ve been hearing about recently regarding red focus is the ability to essentially hitconfirm into Ultra.
Think about it, if Level 1 crumples, then any combo where you could normally EX Focus Attack and hit with level 1 means that if you have the meter, you can EX Red Focus level 1 crumple into Ultra.
I am a little concerned about this because I worry about Chun’s necessity to charge. Think about it, with full meter, for example, Ryu could do f+HP > cr.HP xx Red FA Level 1 [Crumple] > Ultra 2 for insane damage. Even simpler, any Shoto with the meter could do stuff xx Hado xx Red FA Level 1 into Ultra.
I know that Chun CAN U1 after landing a crumple, but it requires for her not to dash (you execute Ultra around the time the character’s knees hit the ground). But, I can’t help but feel that as people begin to understand and discover new uses of Red Focus, Chun is going to have increasing troubles in USF4.
Well at the very least it’ll grant her cr. HP x Legs which can be linked into Ultra 1 and allow her the time she would need to charge. Kikosho will be free and Combofiend said a while ago that it would be more damaging in Ultra.
One thing about the EX red focus in general though is the speculation of how much it costs. If it’s really a full super bar to use (I think it should just be 3 bars) then those confirmation combos won’t really be worthwhile that often considering the resources put into it.
Chun EX Red Focusing anything would be bad, when she has such a punishing super. I could think of a few characters that could benefit from that, but she’s not one of them.
That’s exactly the problem. Chun benefits less than other characters do, which means right out of the gate she is already behind the pack in my view.
ALTHOUGH (and I do not know for sure if this is true so don’t quote me on this) a little birdie told me that there are now more characters who will be able to cancel their Supers into Ultra (like Dee Jay)… take that for what it’s worth.
I’m not sure what that’d do for Chun though…I’m not a huge fan of super cancelling into ultra anyway (Which is why I still use U2 with Dee Jay if I play him), I just feel like it’s a big waste of meter.
It makes Chun even scarier if she has Super stocked. It’d mean that you could punish anything -2 on block or worse with Super and cancel into Ultra with almost no scaling.
Does someone know the frames of her forward throw?
Maybe throw - empty jump - wiff crouching normal with fitting frame number xx state change OS Ultra 1 is possible now?
