so a tournament that I was planning on going to requires that if you win, in addition to keeping your character, you cant switch ultras (even if you get counter picked). How would you guys deal with such a thing with the intention of playing Chun? Hell, even Akuma doesn’t really work here because some matches are really meant to use U2. Should I Cammy/Ryu ? :\
I’d either argue for the ultra switch or go with Ryu since his ultra is way more versatile. That rule is BS though.
I’m currently arguing, I brought up the evo rules so let’s see. If they don’t budge I’m probably just not gonna go because the rule makes no sense at all.

Whats a good setup after chun does the sweep? By that I mean, Viper does something that gets her swept from the OS.

from a sweep you can do one of 3 things:
meeks safe jump
meaty cr.mk
meaty cr.lp os cl.hk
the safe jump loses to hp tk feint, meaty cr.mk makes hp tk whiff but you cant really punish wake up BK, meaty cr.lp loses to hp tk feint but you can get a CH cl.hk against Ex seismo and you can get another sweep against viper with this bnb
CH cl.HK, cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.hk

Good news, they changed the ultra rule, so now I’ll be using Chun at the “DustBowl” which is apparently one of the bigger tournaments that isn’t a major. There will be streams and stuff.
Hopefully I do well, playing in tournaments can be nerve wracking though, still learning how to deal with that as opposed a first to 5 setup.

I actually ran a tournament on the same day as dust bowl and a bunch of people told me how big of a mistake that was as its a really big nonmajor. But we had 30 people.

Me fighting KSK’s Abel at 1:47. I definitely could have won, made some stupid mistakes. I was whiffing throw all night, I don’t know why.
I fought Naruo’s Evil Ryu in casuals. Got murdered. You can’t make a mistake against him because he will get max damage out of every opportunity. I did a footsie Hasanshu once and he reacted with U2. I didn’t realize it was Naruo at first then at one point I was like “This dude is pretty GDLK…Okay, this is Naruo.” He’s also very on-point with his footsies and doesn’t make mistakes. Also, a pretty nice guy overall. Other than him I did fairly well in casuals but I wish I could have done better in the tournament. Had we gotten past KSK we would have had to deal with Dogura’s Bison though.

He fucked up Victheslik (close personal friend) in the Bison/Bison mirror at EVO last year. Sadface.
Also on a random note, I was playing against a really good Gen player on PC the other day… after winning a few rounds against him (all very close, what I’d consider pretty good games), he messaged me saying I was terrible and that he would counter-pick and destroy me.
He picked Honda. Like, what?
I mean I don’t deny that there are certainly good Honda players, or that against an extremely skilled and smart player, Chun can lose to Honda. But unless you’re Mike Ross or one of the top Honda players from Japan, I ain’t scared.
Dude proceeded with typical online Honda gimmicks, buttslam into headbutt, buttslam into command throw, buttslam into buttslam… lol. He ended up losing the next couple matches and then stopped joining my games. Just thought I’d share since it made me laugh.
