but hey chun does have to amazing ultras
I said some things in that thread, I basically pointed out how Chun would have absolutely zero chance to beat Akuma if he had both ultras. You couldnt be offensive, you couldnt be defensive, you couldnt even be random. Both of those ultras cover every single type of play.
The way it is right now, Akuma has option selects to raging demon your back dash on wakeup. Imagine if his vortex was made better by the idea that he can COMBO INTO ULTRA NOW. It would be too risky to try ANY kind of defense against ANY demon flip setup. Due to the fact that he can land massive damage on a backdash or a dive kick (beats ex sbk too) you have to just down back, except he can now throw you over and over again because you cant risk anything else. The throw keeps you in the vortex. The match ends because all options are covered.
Akuma can demon basically any jump that chun does, including neutral jumps over certain fireballs. With two ultras, you will pretty much be at full screen not neutral jumping fireballs (taking chip), approaching him would be too risky because he can combo into ultra off of a lot of normals, and can set it up off of a HDK. He can also demon hazanshus with very little challenge. Many Akuma’s have been using U2 lately because Chun can do a decent job of shutting down his teleport game, imagine if she couldnt even do that with all of his RD setups.
Seth is another ridiculous one. Good luck jumping or throwing fireballs, focusing, doing footsies etc.
If they do this, I will not buy the game and I seriously doubt there will be a competitive community for the game for very long unless a few characters are banned. Even with that, the game would become so defensive that it would be boring
I’m so bored at work since nothing is happening, I’m literally checking the forums at least once every 10 minutes, WRITE SOMETHING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
Skatan, where do you live? Wanna do some offline?
I live in Stockholm, Sweden, so sure if you happen to be round town. Not today though!
A friend of mine (I don’t think I’m allowed to say who) may be casting / commentating Dreamhack in Sweden.
This friend is trying to get me to come along. If financial situation allows for it, I might. If I do, I’ll be sure to find you and shake your hand, Skatan. We can do the far standing MP Chun-Li handshake together lol
That’s cool. I’m from Stockholm but I live in UK London. I am visiting today but then I leave for Örebro on Friday. Next time
Bored at work and have had this question for years now.
After EX Legs in the corner, EX SBK either throws them out of the corner or back in. Right now it seems random. I’d like the added damage and stun but would like them to be guaranteed to end up in the corner after. Is there a way to always have them land in the corner or is it random?
Thanks!!
just spacing not random at all
So, I’m finally putting in the time to actually learning things and refining my execution. Cr. LK > Cr.LK > Cr.LP > Cr.MK xx HP Kikoken is a true block string, right?
Care to elaborate?
too close to the corner and ex sbk send the opponent to the other side
When you know it’ll send them to the other side is there another alternative? Or is there a better alternative in general? EX Fireball, EX Legs again…?
for the most part u2
other than that better to keep them on the corner
if you can kill them use either ex sbk or ex legs
As long as you use it after a cl.hk or c.mk it will never send them out of the corner.
One of her most damaging corner combos with meter is actually u+hp, cl.hk x ex sbk, ex sbk, U1
yeah i should have pointed out the cl.hk and cr.mk cancels
the double hit neutral hp is really inconsistent on some characters tho
Yeah
I wish her j.hp~hp was faster too so that it would work against all focus attacks T.T
i have never had any problems with focus using j.TC to beat them
but i would love to be able to delay it a little more
Maybe it’s a spacing thing, or I just play the matchups where it doesn’t work reliably more often.
Omg this ^
I played a local team tourney match, did j.hp~hp against someone who FA’d as an AA and I got crumpled. I can’t remember against which character, but after he absorbed my first j.HP and let go of FA, his hitbox changed, making my second j.HP whiff and resulting in me getting crumpled into full combo. =/
Looking back, it might just be a spacing thing. Hmm, time to hit the lab.
