SFIV Chun Li General - Fellowship of the Thigh v.2

Ibuki and her hate is a different topic altogether. But you’re missing the point. What I’m trying to say is that: things are going to change wither you like it or not, and if we don’t adapt we won’t go anywhere. All we will be able to do is accept it and move on.

waffle i have been saying that for a long time now

dont make assumptions based on a couple of post

and even then if we the players dont work together to find new tech when those changes arrives will not matter at all

all im saying is if they do change her jump I´LL HAVE too much work re testing all the nonsense i have been uploading the last couple of years because the 200+ chuners out there will be to busy complaining about chun not getting some bs.

Malva there is nobody forcing you to post your discoveries, I stopped posting mine a long time ago because people take it for granted.

I can understand why I came off as a douche in my previous post, but when I see Chun getting a need buff that has been requested for a long time, and there are people complaining about that when it will help her more in the long run, of course it’s going to sting in my eyes.

If you’ve put down the time in training mode finding tech then I have nothing but props for you, it’s something that everyone should sit down and do, but too few actually do.

tl;dr - Chun is getting buffed, I’m happy and you should be too <3

I think we should just wait until we get more information, or rather, test everything out when the new patch drops. I do enjoy theory fighter, but I also think we shouldn’t dabble too much into these changes until we actually get our hands on the game. Who knows, maybe the speculated faster jump speed may bring about even better setups.

Well, if we get the frames on how much faster the jump is, it won’t be as much of a problem replacing old setups, you just subtract the frames of the jump and replace your whiffed normal with one that adds on the same frames that was removed from the jump.

I’m hoping it’s fast enough to be able to safejump 5f reversals from c.hk by whiffing c.lp.

some numbers FYI

f.throw give us 55f adv *

our jump is 45f total (4f prejump + 41)

our fastest normal is far lp and cr.lp 10f total

so basically a perfect frame for 4f safe jump is f.throw, st.lp, deep j.hk

so lets say we got vega´s jump (any other jump arc would be way too unrealistic ie. adon/blanka) his jump is 4+35 which is 6f faster.

so we need a 16f normal and guess what we dont have that we have 15f and 18f (far lk and cr.mk).

in the other hand sweep point blank is IIRC something like 47f adv.

and with the vega´s jump that would give us 8f window instead of the actual 2, and if you ask me is way easier to time a 2f window than an 8f, just saying.

Of course this is just theory, another arc gives us different adv and what not. Like i said before i have no problem with this, i can do it with very little effort because i know my character and i have a very large knowlegde about the system mechanics of the game because i have spend a handful of hours learning this stuff. The thing is we need more ppl capable of this.

  • remember that not everyone gets up at the same time

In any case we will see when the patch hits, since it’s not confirmed if she’ll keep her faster jump or not, if she does I concider her having an easier time switching sides after a knockdown a greater buff than losing setups (if she doesn’t gain new ones) is a nerf.

that´s what im saying lol

if she keep those changes then we might gain or lose some things

the thing is im very skeptical about it just because the loctest before the release of the game.

I rewatched the video. Chun’s jump does seem much less floaty. But I would take it with a grain of salt because it’s clearly a test build of Street Fighter, there isn’t even a combo counter on the side of the screen.

Also, is it just me or does it seem like df+LK in the video comes out WAY faster than it used to? Like it almost seems too easy to use now. I haven’t played Super in a while, but even in Super I don’t remember the move being that fast.

it wasnt that fast

IIRC in super is a 11f start up and now is 12f slow as cr.hp from bipson

but im ok with 10f or 11f if they keep the ssf4 status -> inv frames + trade u2

Yay!

he plays her against gief i would love to see him use her more

A faster df+lk will help her fireball game a lot, the problem now is that if she throws a fireball when they are within jump range they can jump on reaction and she’s pretty much forced to block/focus backdash/c.mk under, she can’t really stop them from jumping in that situation. If df+lk is fast enough people have to start thinking if it’s worth trying to jump there or not.

Seeing that rather than just a balance patch USF4 will have additional content, how about Hazan Tensho Kyaku as a possible Ultra3? Fully cinematic on hit at proper range and all. XD

If a 3rd ultra is added I would love to see 七星閃空腳 make a return (sorry, I don’t know the English name of it), it’s her super move from MvC where she delivers one kick to the opponent in mind air, while the game enters matrix and the words 七星閃空腳 popping up like Akuma’s ultra 1.

So I’m trying to get back into SF (haven’t played since SSF4 first came out) and I’m trying to get down some of the BnBs with her and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for connecting the second cr.hp in the cr.hp > legs loop. I can do it one time no problem but if I try to do the loop twice I can’t seem to get the cr.hp to connect.

I’m not too sure about the change to EX Kikoken. It seems unnecessary. Chun-Li doesn’t really have many tools to capitalize on knockdown except for J.LK cross-ups, right? I don’t really play this game that often, so correct me if I’m horribly mistaken.

EDIT: After seeing the potential EX Kikoken > EX Hyakuretsukyaku > Kikosho link, I can sort of see why they did it.

actually im pretty sure kikosho can be linked w/o ex legs

And who knows how her Post-knockdown game will be if she really gets a changed jumptiming.

Maybe the ex-kikoken knockdown is the greatest buff of all time, maybe its pretty worthless.

was it supposed to be a hard knockdown or not? EX Kikoken that is
