SFIV at Gameworks!

Alright. As proposed by trace. A new thread is formed! All gameworks street fighter 4 stuff should be posted in here and we can let the old thread die… especially since we can’t use time cards so thursday nights don’t matter haha

A new thread eh? Good shit my dude. If anyone cares, I am there randomly on tuesdays and fridays. I get there in the mid afternoon, and I dip out at close to 6.

I went to ghost town works for like a year and now they get SF4 and everybodys there.

where are the best places to park for free? I usually park over by some porn store like 4 blocks away cuz im there at night and its usually the closest I can find an open spot…

Lol so um Mandel and I confirmed EX Kara into Ultra at narrows thursday. I mastered it in one night (lol).

Basically all characters who have EX moves with armor can do it. So the list is Balrog, Honda, El Furte, Zangief and Abel.

Its so easy. Bascally Charge, F, B+PP (to do ex), F+P (kara Ultra)

Char will absorb one hit from the ex, then INSTANTLY go into Ultra. This shit is nuts fellas haha. The best thing about it, is u dont even waste ex meter =)

So Golden. So i dont know what tricks u have FrankdaDank, but i hope it can counter my instant EX kara into Ultra hahahahahaha

I’ve been thinking a lot about how to combo into Claw’s ultra. What I think will work is pressing roundhouse on the downforward part of the Ultra motion so that Claws hop kick comes out and juggles them and then complete the ultra motion before they land.

Charge DB, DF+RH (Hop Kick [juggles]), DB, U + KKK. This may work in the corner if the hop kick can be entered.

If I can kara cancel his EX wall dive into ultra, I know this will work and its all gravy.

Pretty sure you can’t do that kara cancel my friend. Vega needs to have an ex move that has a hit of super armor. Cole was messing with him last night and we couldn’t find one. However, we never tried to ex the move where he throws his mask off. I would seriously doubt that works, but you never leave any stone unturned.

I did always wanna test the hop kick into ultra though. Seems like it should work.

His Ultra comes out so fast if you are crouching in the corner, its damn near instant. It may combo off a hop kick in the corner even without linking it.

I’m going to gameworks tonight after work. J cole and james and gene are gonna be there. Maybe billy too. I need to pactice some demon setups since its so easy to kara demon now. I hope the patch can be downloaded so the arcxades are up to date. I was messing with fei long inST and his low fierce is kinda like athenas in cvs2. Which characters will you guys play when console/patch comes out? You think gen will have 2 ultras and 2 supers?

For console:

Sakura, Cammy, Ryu, Chun, Sagat

For kicks: Dan, Viper, Bison, Fei Long

Josh, Akuma’s ultra is garbage at ANY range, you can do it from lp distance and opponent can jump away EVERY time. Ask Mandel when I did my tight setup which was: c.lp, c.mp, SADC, demon…I was face to face with Mandel and he STILL jumped out of the Ultra because of the cut scene. Fact of the matter is, that Kara’ing it aint gonna do shit cuz they’ll still be able to jump out of it. They made the ultra “jump out’able” if you will. The only way to be catching people with this is through other people’s pressure strings, or if they jump in and you do it as an anti air (must have them caught RIGHT when they land).

And by the way what patch are you talking about?

As in, they might release a newer version of the arcade game to include the console benefits such as new characters.

Shit you shoulda mentioned the time where you did ultra, and I was in the corner, and I backdashed twice AND jumped away unscathed =/.

I use Akuma’s Ultra as an anti-air only, kind of like how you use El Fuerte’s, it works wonders against jump setups from the likes of Zangief and etc. And even if you fuck up it takes you like half screen to get the fuck out of there lol. Just whenever someone leaves the ground time it so it runs into them on landing and nothing can be done, I’ve beaten Zangief out of ultra AND super with this! It puts fear into the opponent so they will eventually refuse to jump at all when u have meter built.

Ino has said that he views the arcade version as a “World Warriors” version of street fighter 4, and that console releases are going to be like CE and ST, and expand on the game with characters and balance. I am pretty sure they are going to update the cabinets as well.

This is why arcade operators get pissed off.

in response to akumas ultra. i found it to be very effective on wake up if people are throwing out meatys or pokes. i got jason cole a few time when he would try to meaty over head. also out of teleport INTO the corner you get instant recovery. so good to set it up there. and the anti air method is hard to hit. you think its possible to buffer it in when the opponent is doing block strings and get an interrupt?
