When I read “race tournament”, the first thing I thought of was “Wait, a footrace tournament? Are we going to run 100m around the Evo ballroom?”

I hate it when people just read part of a post, then feel qualified to respond.
As I wrote quite plainly, there is no “team mixed.” “Mixed” is not a race (no one refers to himself as “half/part mixed”), so you just go to whichever team most resembles you physically.
If you can’t or won’t dedicate yourself to one particular race, well, you don’t play.
I don’t know what zaspacer thinks, but I would put the make up of the teams to a blind vote, in which you could only nominate people to the team that you yourself would join.
So you, zass, would pick two or three white guys (would have to be two minimum), and their names would go into the “team white” bucket.
After some period of time had passed, we’d count the votes and see who made the teams (i.e. got the most votes). Obviously, only people who themselves voted would qualify (e.g. if Daigo Umehara didn’t vote, then he wouldn’t make team yellow, no matter how many people voted for him).

Then it wouldn’t be any different than Evo from last year. Epic footraces occurred after Sunday Finals. I’m sure you’ve seen the Floe vs. Wizard race? Hahahahaha.
