Honestly, I would like to see some shit talking this year to create hype for the game. I’ve never really been a shit talker, I would rather let my play do the talking, but it would be nice to get a lot of hype this year so someone please talk some shit lol

3. Oldschool ST moonlighting HDR cross-over players vs. dedicated HDR players

4. PS3 vs. 360

5. ST/GGPO vs. HDR

6. 360 Clan vs. 360 Clan

7. Old School vs. Newcomers

8. Tomo vs. Daigo vs. Choi/Valle vs. Wong vs. Afro
   (just pulling big names here, even if they’re not HDR names)

9. Dekor/SMQ/etc. vs. THE WORLD

10. SRK vs. HF

11. Ethnic Wars!

12. Potheads vs. Alcoholics (vs. “other”)
    (load up on your favorite DOC and BATTLE!)

That’s a lot of categories to scrap over.

Some are more heated currently, but they might not make the most press.

Any chance we can get some Japanese names (hopefully in addition to Daigo) to hit EVO this year?
Do they have a preferred format? (individual vs. 2-man team vs. 3-man team, etc.)

Anyone wanna set-up HDR rivalry (real) fights during the event?
(violence sells tickets: ask hockey)

What about that annual event in Japan where 2 rival regions get together and play heads-up (people from each region jumping on when someone in their region loses, each player only gets one game) until one region is the victor?

I love this idea.

I think there should definitely be race-based tournaments. If you’re mixed, then you go to whichever team looks most like you (regardless of with which team you better identify).

Note: I’m talking race-based, not culture based. Lump all Far East Asians together, lump all people of African descent together, all people of European descent, latinos, Indians, Middle Easterners, native Americans, etc. To simplify, break the teams into colors, so you have team white, team black, team yellow, team red, team brown, and whatever else. Well, I guess that’s everyone. Maybe team orange for Indians (as in, India, not native Americans, those are red) and team whatever for Middle Easterners.

Put three or four competitors into each category and get it going.

Seriously, this needs to happen. Nothing like race wars to get people amped and hyped. Sh!t would be legendary.

I’m not going to post the link again, but Sven has already said “we will look into it, but there are no plans for a patch.” That was at least 6 months ago and Sven never came back to say what they found.

Capcom to HDR is like the 40 year old who’s really successful, but the family just got a a brand new cousin who’s even more successful at a younger age, and looks newer and they could care less about the 40 yr old.

Ok I need a serious post in here, if you want to do regionals again I’d say assign captains no later than the end of Feb. Last year we got the easy out of having Evo pick them for us but this year I’d say leave it up to whoever decides to run this. Also let’s shoot for 5v5 again, it worked out last year pretty well since we planned for more when inevitably people didn’t show so we did have enough for a 3v3 even. If you plan for only 3v3 then the chance of someone not showing up and you not having a backup is much higher.

There always needs to be an SF2 game at EVO to remind everyone why these type of events even exist. Don’t care if its ST, HDR, or Hyper. Once they are gone I couldn’t care less about EVO.

I’ll still probably attend even if SF2 gets the axe, but I agree. Whether is HDR, ST, or Hyper, SF2 is pretty much a requirement. I love this game to death.
