OK, there is a bunch of interest for a tourney so I am changing the original post to give an updated list of competitors, rules and details.
First, the time. I have had a few requests that best suits people and unfortunately not everyone can be accomodated, there is nothing I can do about that so if you have a conflict my apologies. We are going to go for pretty early in the day. The Tournament is as follows:
Time
Saturday, December 6th at 12PM PST, please report in at 11:00 AM PST and by latest 11:30 AM PST that you are ready to go and brackets can be made.
Details and Rules:
Double Elimination (This might become single elimination if the tally is too high for me to manage, which of course depends on who shows up)
Brackets will be posted up online on a URL to follow.
Players will all join a designated XBL Party. This is going to get noisy probably so please keep the mics muted and just be there to receive instructions. Please message questions in as well.
Players will get there assignments from the party and send a message thru XBL that the match will be starting. Please also report back if your opponent is a no show.
All selection is blind just like the game.
Moderator will designate who is P1. P1 players will be responsible for setting up the private room.
Players will play best 2 out of 3 matches for the win. Matches are best 2 out of 3 rounds.
Results are reported back to the organizers (me and possibly a helper) through XBL messaging.
Competitors will be contacted thru messaging for the second, third and so on fights. Once again please message back when the fight is starting.
Competition continues thru to the finals where a winner will be awarded.
I am not a tournament organizer and I am doing this for fun. Considering how many players have shown interest I probably won’t be playing. Which sucks but oh well. Crap will get disorganized I am sure but don’t give me too much crap about, I will be doing the best I can and once again remember this is for fun, nothing more. If you are late to reporting in by 11:30 AM I will do what I can to get you into the brackets but make my life easier and don’t be too late please. I don’t think we will get to 64 players so there will be spots open most likely, I should be able to fit people in somewhere.
I can’t add everyone as a friend on XBL as my friends list is full so we will have to get creative with everyone joining the party.
OK these rules aren’t final so suggestion are cool. Doesn’t mean I’ll take em but I am of course open to those who have done stuff like this before. If someone really wants to organize this above me you are welcome to, it would mean I can play!
