SFHD - Fei Long: Strategy only, ONLY POST STRATS, STRATS ONLY

Boxer is spamming cr.mp at half screen, he can headbutt by reaction. What do you do? He may or may not have super.

I lost twice.

Do whatever you can to walk in close, make him lose his charge, but be able to block it :stuck_out_tongue: Sounds tough, I know, but with some practice, you will get the timing down. If you are walking in close, any decent Boxer should try do a low rush on you, that’s when you jump over it, and punish.

Remember boxer super glitch? It doesnt have to be a reversal that hits him on the second punch it could be a normal that comes out quickly, it can be something such as a crouching jab.

That’s true too. It pisses me off when I have some guy in the corner, use my Super, and it pauses after the 2nd hit. Stupid!!!

Ugh…

I hate Boxer with a passion.

From what I’ve seen in ST, CW made that match less stressful.

But now that it was nerfed, it’s more difficult.

The best way that I found to fight against Boxer is to safe jump the hell out of him (Using j.MK or j.HK is ideal). If he headbutts during your safe jump, you get a free throw. You can even combo st.LP or cr.LP into rekkas if you have good timing (I suck at this though!).

If he blocks your safe jump, mix it up between throw and flame kick.

If you don’t expect him to reversal throw you walk up and throw him, or flame kick/sweep if you do expect him to reversal throw you.

This is sort of my strategy against 75% of the cast. Except against boxer, its getting momentum in the first place.

Part of the problem that Fei has against Boxer is that Boxer’s standing fierce will hit a crouching Fei. Against characters like Ryu, Ken, Chun, etc, standing fierce will NOT hit a crouching character, but against guys like Gief, T. Hawk, Dhalsim, and Fei, that standing fierce is a great weapon. If Fei blocks the low rush from Boxer, he can follow it up with a standing fierce right after that, and sometimes it can catch the beginning frames of Fei’s moves, which is a huge advantage for Boxer.

Coth, I would say that against top level Boxer’s, you shouldn’t expect to win the match. If you do, then kudos

Yeah I know, I’m not fond of the counter picking nature that HDR is. W/E.

Boxer is as hard as hell but I don’t think that you should expect to lose ANY match. Screw Rog! Ha! In regards to cr.MP/low dash punch/headbutt nonsense, I like using the MK CW against the low dashes. It is a free crossup but it can be thrown–however, you can throw or FK afterwards. Crouching HP, MP, MK and standing HP exchange and often cleanly beat Rog’s normals and dashes. I love baiting rising headbutts with feints and light attacks. As many top Rogs (ShockKJ, SRKBoxer, CasualPlayer, etc.) can attest to, I’m not a free win just because I’m Fei. Outthink and outlast. Ha!

This is true, KAO is not a free win. You sure are a hell of a turtler though

It’s been a while since I’ve fallen for Zangief crossup antics but, unfortunately, I did yesterday. What do you guys typically do to avoid being crossup bodysplashed to death (or blocking and eating SPD)?
I used the so-called anti-crossup motion and ended up doing the CW but was punished on recovery. I also used the standing HP with limited success…very limited success. Ha!

The Anti-crossup is pretty much all I do.

But of course your chances of getting punished is greater if anything lower than HK CW comes out.

Gief shouldn’t really be getting in mostly. whiffed green hand spd is stupid online, but as long you outpoke him splashes shouldn’t be a problem. Although, its usually over if gief gets in, since that means i lost focus and hell if i can reverse him at that point.

Right Coth. I usually never allow Giefs that close in…which is probably why I never have that problem. To your point, Aqua, I was trying the piano CW. I suppose that the next time I find myself in this situationI’ll try only the HK version.

On a related note, I have noticed that the presence of turbo Giefs has exploded. I suppose that the Akuma lovers realized that this would be a more acceptable form of douchery.

On an unrelated note, Chuns are really evolving these days. Have any of you noticed any new Chun tricks? My man Voltech is always giving me new wrinkles in his game to counteract.

Yeah they’re getting crafty. Mongolo, Skankin Garbage, and Voltech are all beast, but it’s still an ass raping session if you manage to trap her in the corner.

I don’t fear Chun Li… yet. :nunchuck:

The annoying thing about her neckbreaker, is that if she does it meaty, it beats fei’s flamekick and CW. No scratch that, its her air to air priority.

I wish CW was throwable during startup.

Screw that! :wow:

As far as Neckbreaker doing what you say it does, I don’t mind it too much. Afterall, CW completely ignores her upkicks. So it’s fair. :shy:

Chun Li for Dummies

OK, Aqua (everyone), let’s try this: let’s say that I’m totally new to this Fei-Chun matchup. I get the impression that you feel that this is an easier match for Fei. (I concure.) I’m talking about a Beating Chun Li for Dummies. Ha!
For instance, what are the key points to remember to ensure success?
How do you get in on a Chun?
How do you pin her in the corner?
What CW strength(s) should you use?
How do you deal with her jumping LK?
What strength flame kick should Fei perform on a grounded Chun?
What don’t most Feis know about this match that they should?

I have my own answers but I thought that it would be interesting to catalyze a discussion. I’m sure that there are some rookies out there that would love to get in on the Fei action but don’t know where to start. Don’t be scared. Come on in–we won’t hurt you…but Honda and Vega might.
I have to admit that this is partially for my own edification. I lose to only two Chuns: jinjah and Voltech. I’m looking for any edge that’ll change this. 8)

I assume you understood what I meant, it was late I was doing homework, watching tv and monitoring the forums. I meant I wish CW wasn’t throwable during startup.

My goal is to bend her over and just go for it!

Tut tut, Coth.

Since when did you start liking women?
