SFCCL Season 3 (PS3 Online League)

Hope the event was a blast got stuck at a flag football game and couldn’t get back in time.

SFCCL 2011 FALL BRAWL Results (with videos)

I read your blog and I agree the two lobby format definitely makes for more intense matches and less waiting.

On a different note I really need to start playing with some of the guys in the league. I know I can level my Sim up a ton if I could just learn the mechanics of the game. xx Von XX pretty much exposed me as I didn’t know how to fight him. Seriously though if anyone has a mic and wouldnt mind having some training with talking send me a message and we can set something up.

Anyways I have a tournament tonight here locally in Omaha. Hopefully I do well. After that I probably will look to do some of my matches if anyone is on.

And I cant say it enough but Sal your league is top notch bro. If it wasnt for you I would have given up on SSF4 a looonng time ago. I still love turbo but I’m slowly learning the intricasies of this game.

Thanks.

If only the lobby thing didn’t muck up…

SFCCL League Update - Thru Week 14 (October 22, 2011)

Gotta get some more wins…

Whats the deal with switching characters this season?

A member can switch characters only once this season. So, you can change your 2 fighters one time each. All played matches remain closed & their results honored. All unplayed matches can be played with the new character. The new character carries the record of the previous fighter as part of their own.

On a personal note, finally played all of my 28 matches this season. Played my final matches versus WELCOME2TROYLAND on Wednesday. Split the matches with Ken winning. My Fei Long finished with a record of (6-8) and may not make the A Division tournament. Ken finished with an (8-6) record and will most likely be in the top 8 of the B Division. My wins & losses were the same with each fighter against all members with the exception of winning my Ken matches versus TROYLAND and DOCTOR_ROUSE.

The Final SFCCL Season

So I faced off with Xenon today, Our local bad ass for the most part, and he trounced Cody and Guy with his Sagat and Blanka. I’m pulling for him to win the whole thing, but I’m gonna focus on beating him should we face off in the finals.

Also, a little down to see that SFCCL is gonna end after this one, however, let’s make sure the final bouts are played out to their fullest, and that we give 'em one hell of a parting show!

Thanx for the kind words, SM00TH.

If someone wants to play, they will complete their matches. My time is really limited to late nite playing, yet I still find a way to play everyone. When you have one member contacting everyone looking to play, then those matches have a great chance to be completed. When you have two members who prefer to wait & be contacted, then a match will never get done. We have too many members that fit into the latter.

I can’t force anyone to play. All I can is for their commitment to play. But if only a handful of members (no more than 10) are playing or on pace to play all of their matches, it isn’t worth my all of my time to run the league when no one is playing. I’ve always said the league was a success as long as the members made it a success. I still want to do something online with SF, perhaps the live-events-only thing will be that. Time will tell.

Here’s to finishing the season strong as we roll towards SUPER BRAWL III!

Need to have an elite league. People that have proven they can play matches can join. East and west is nice but if we cant get enough people that steadily play we can combine into one. Can put everyone that completed enough mathed into a group and have a group of others that must play to make the league. I think if we made it hard to join the league we might have more matches played. Dump everyone into a pool and who ever plays the most matches or steadily plays there matches can earn they way into the league.

Ya know, I’ve actually considered forming a Team for online play, basically an Online Warriors team. Not just for Street Fighter, but other fighters like Marvel, SF X T, BlazBlue, etc. Some of you guys I’d love to invite to the team.

Defeated Elfonki’s Deejay with Cody, but Zangief slammed Guy.

Beat achilles26 2-0 both matches. Videos later

Thanx for the results guys. Always glad see ZTI back in action. Congrats to the winners. Keep those results coming in! About 2 weeks to go in the Americas Region.

I did run a play-in scernerio in season 2 where the first 8 players to play 3 matches with other players on the Waiting List would then earn their way into the league (known as the Free-For-All). It kind of gave them a sense of how the league operated by making them contact strangers online to play SF matches. I was opening a new division at the time in the league. The system proved successful. Current members like Crusader884, Hedr1984, and Manwithnoarms2 joined the league that way.

I like this overall concept, but it does require me to work people who aren’t in the league officially. That is not a task I envy. Perhaps the league could have Free-For-All events once a month or so. Or after a couple of members drop from the league. To make this work tho, there would have to be a Waiting List for players to choose from. Right now, that Waiting List is only 4 or 5 players long. This event worked in Season 2 b/c at the time, we had more players on the Waiting List than were in the actual league. We are far removed from that level of interest today.

Also, if you have members joining throughout the season, we probably need to go back to the old champions & contenders format. The current format to this season wouldn’t work with new members joining often. New members would then join the league at the bottom of the rankings. I’d prefer for one Americas conference where everyone has a chance to play everyone, but part of the reason we split into geographical zones was to help members meet up online in the same time zones and lessen the amount of lag affecting matches. That has worked this year, and going back to a combined league would bring back these old issues.

I’ll have to brainstorm this so more. Perhaps there is something there worth saving the league for. You go me thinking, HADUKEN!

I don’t think the remaining players will fight, since they have like, 3 games as opposed to everyone else’s 10 and 11 and 12

Glad I could help
