Man I predict ALOT, ALOT, and ALOT of champions this season. The talent at the top of that board for the most part is clearly just ridiculous. Congratz Zabi- … for now… Just know how much harder your going to have to work to hold that title with the monsters that are coming after it lolz.

The “Reservations” are working so far as all new members are ‘hitting the ground running’ in their first week. Better than hoping a new member remembers he joined the league.
Just sent out a message to all Waiting List players asking them to confirm their continued interest in hopes of dumping those that have forgotten.

Really surprised to see you struggle in that match. He seem to ‘beat you to the punch’ the entire match, which is something I expect from your Cammy. And he is one of the first players I’ve seen stop Cammy’s endless air spikes consistently.
I’d prefer the title be held for several weeks at a time, but I understand the competition is fierce up there. EG seems to have Fran’s number, but Fran is the only fighter to defeat Zabi so far this season. Zti is all over EG, but struggles against Zabi. Skrface admits to not playing well so far this season. Should be interesting to see your Rufus and Deltron’s Ryu join the ruckus!
As for my match, my Bison defeated Zabi’s retiring fighter, Juri, 2-0. Had to come back in both sets to win, but was able to change up my approach as Zabi kept punishing me for my aggressiveness.

Just curious, how long does a person wait on the waiting list? Are we talking days, weeks, months? I ask because I notice in the North American section there are as many people waiting to play as there are playing. Also I made the mistake and put Vega as my second character when I meant to put Gouken.

What is your PSN name? The time of waiting is unknown since it all depends on how many/if any members leave the league at the end of each week. I am content at keeping the league at 64 members total as I fear expanding it will only result in more unplayed matches. If you ‘reserve’ a spot, you automatically get in when there is an opening.

That list is several weeks old. I sent out a message to all the players on the list to confirm if they were still interested. That list should be a lot shorter by next week.
To “reserve” a spot, just let me know. You move to the top of the list, and get in if there is enough openings. I want the serious players wanting to join a quick way to get in versus the players that signed up for fun, and then forgot they signed up 5 minutes later. So far, it’s working.

Forgot to mention the upcoming Week 10 inter-divisional matches. The top 8 players (& their 2 fighters) will matchup against the C Division 16 fighters. Winners make up the C Division in Week 11. In short, you win that exhibition match, and you are in the league. First time ever we are doing that. ‘Reserves’ could basically take the Top 8 spots and then each have a chance to play themselves into the league.
I’m a little confused bro. Do you have to win a match to get in the league? And if I become a reserve how long before you think I will be able to play?

A ‘reserve’ means you are first in line to get in IF there is an opening. If no member drops/kicked out, then there are no openings, and thus no one from the Waiting List gets in. We have had at least one opening every week this season. No match required to win. You just get into the league at the bottom of the lowest division, Division C.
However, if by Week 10, you still have not gotten into the league, then the Top 8 players on the List (most likely ‘Reserved’ players) will have an official SFCCL match versus a fighter from the C Division. Win that match, and your fighter takes the place of the C Division fighter the following week. No need to wait for an opening. In this situation, you play yourself into the league. Never tried this before, but should make for some competitive matches. As a result, some members may only have 1 fighter in the league.

Thanks for all the messages and the warm welcome as the new SFCCL champion. I would have responded sooner, but didn’t want to call myself the champion until I defeated Fran_gil’s Balrog ( I won 2-1). It was a tough match, but i managed to win and defend my title for the first time. Good games to ZTI and Fran, until we meet again. I’m sure you’ll be much stronger than before next time. The Ryder’s cup will be interesting, won’t be the first time I have fought some of these international players, so it’s going to be interesting.
Now, that I’m done with all my matches, I can concentrate more on my studies and take a break from psn( have been training all week). So, if you guys don’t see me on, you know why =) I saved the videos, if you want to record them SAL. Oh and I believe SAL meant, first time in season 2

To clarify my blog post, I stand by it 100%. When CLOUD won the Grand/Gold Championship in Week 20 of last season, he used his 1st Place Prize Match to challenge the #1 Contender (Marcolopolo177’s Guile - back in the league btw). He didn’t directly challenge ElGeneral. As a result of defeating Marcopolo177, he then challenged EG’s Guile in the Champion vs. #1 Contender weekly match. Zabi challenged the champion with his Prize Match, and then turned around & defended his title against the #1 Contender. There is a difference, and thus, Zabi is the first member to win the championship as a direct result of Prize Match.
CLOUD came from the Silver Division to win it tho, while Zabi was already in the Gold Division.

Choosing somebody was very hard. There are three people I have in mind, ZTI, Fran, and jay1900’s Vega(gave me a hard time during the SS tournament and sent Ultima to losers). Jay1900 asked me first, even before i completed my match against fran_gil. In my opinion his vega is worthy enough to be in the gold division. So, out of courtesy(asked me first) and his skill; I choose Jay19000.
A surprising but respectable pick. JAY is newer member but a cool guy with some real skill. Since he just joined last week (his Vega is ranked #3 in the C Division this week), he wil probably be the lowest ranked Americas member, & therefore, will probably face off against the Euro champion in the 1st round. Could be a short event for the Red Champion! lol

I have to say man, this looks pretty sweet. I love how organized it is, how it’s being ran, etc. I’m sure you have been acknowledged for all the hard work you have done but I just wanted to say thanks personally.
