Some background info: xxUltimaCloudxx was teamed up with Vietnamazing in the 2v2 Tourney last month, and they earned the 1st place prize of challenging anyone in the League for their ranking. CLOUD challenged then #1 GOLD Division Contender, Marcopolo177’s GUILE. CLOUD won, taking his spot as the #1 GOLD Contender. He then fought EG, and won. Congrats to Cloud’s RUFUS, the 4th ever GOLD Champion of the SFCCL.
hey sal why you dont do a single tournament before the end of 2009?
The “live” events are not usually very popular in terms of turnout. And if you mean a scheduled tourney as part of the weekly matches, no thanx. It’s a big enough of a problem that members don’t play their matches now with 2 scheduled matches for everyone - I want nothing to do with having to decide matches in a tournament that are unplayed. Or having to keep those members eliminated still involved with the League.
I am brainstorming how to create a GRAND TOURNAMENT to re-launch the SFCCL when Super Street Fighter IV comes out. Perhaps starting a week or 2 after the release of the game, assuming everyone gets the game on release day. The tournament would be 100+ fighters big if we use the 2-fighter-per-member rule. The results of that tournament would then generate the 1st rankings for the SFCCL under Super SFIV. I’m looking forward to it. No telling how long it would take tho.
For now, i’m take the name SUPER BRAWL for the grand tourney.

No prob. As long as you play your matches, win or lose, be prepared to look up higher than you might think in order to find your fighters since a large amount of exiting members cause a sort of vacuum of ‘auto-promotions’. Anybody’s fighter can easily jump a whole division as a result of those members exiting and also ‘leap-frogging’ the fighters who did not play their matches the week before.
In your case, your CHUN LI went from #12 ranked fighter in the E Division to the Champion of the D Division, a whole 28 spots, which is a combination of those 12 members leaving & other fighters who didn’t play. All that for simply playing & winning your match.
In contrast, your opponent last week Artdude20’s Sakura, went from #13 in the E Division to #2 in the D Division. Not too shabby either, even tho he lost.
