so i was doing the mod, everything was going fine, but i skipped the fact that i was gonna have a bitch of a time with the screw in the corner (those who have been to Arcade stick monk’s tutorial know what im talking about).
So, i got pissed and ripped off the whole screw…
so i had the stick with 3 screws secured not 4, i figured no big deal…
but im pretty sure one more of the screws went loose today.
this is gonna sound retarded, but, to screw all 4 of them again, i’d have to drill the top, right? that or either glue the inside of the stick to the inside… i don’t want to glue, so more than likely i’ll screw.
the corner mounting screw for the base of the joystick. if you follow arcade monk’s guide word for word the corner screw is tough but it’s easy if you remove the plexi and the art and use a phillip screw driver to hold it in place.
You could just fill the hole with wood putty or bondo and rescrew it.
Yeah the stick bolts can make it hard to remove the nuts on each. Luckily i bought my AC new and had almost no problems removing the nuts in order to take out the stock stick.
Installing the happ was a different story though, i was able to set 3 out of 4 corners pretty tight, but the 4th wouldn’t let me(kept turning). I was nearly finished by that time and said to hell with it, i was not going to go through the trouble of removing the plexi and all just to get to that one bolt.
3 out of 4 is good enough and i’ve never had any problems with it.
rereading my statement this is what happened. i was taking out the 4 nuts and had trouble taking out the last one (a lot) all the other 3 did not give me any trouble at all. i did skip the part in arcade stick monk’s tutorial that more than likely that was gonna be a bitch to take out. that is after i got pissed and pulled the whole screw with the nut in it. so i was left with 3 screw.
so when i put the new happ in there, it was secured to 3 screws and nuts there was 1 whole missing no big deal. Either the 3 left over weren’t secured 100% or something.
im gonna open it right now to see what happened exactly but something went loose big time…
i opened it finally 2 were missing their nuts, only one bolt was still there with a nut. however, i was only able to secure well only 2 of the nuts. one nut is loose and will turn with the bolt, do you think that’ll hold well?
The arcade monk tutorial should have demonstrated just how easy it is to remove the plexi glass. Who the fuck has that tiny wrench anyway? It takes 2 extra minutes to remove the plastic lining and the art/plexi glass. Once that is removed you you get a screw driver, and some needle nose pliers to hold the nuts, and you are good.
