SFA2: Adon is the devil

Today is the first day I’ve ever played SFA2 so I suck and know nothing about it, but I really want to try GGPO so I’m trying to learn it. I cannot beat the CP Adon on lvl 4 for the life of me. As far as I can tell, he can control way too much space, and even on lvl 4 the CPU is doing some nasty advanced shit on me. I keep getting stuffed, and it’s primarily Adon who is giving me a hard time.

From what I can tell, he has nasty long range normals, high priority specials, and he can pretty much use any move as AA. Combine that with the AI always choosing the right move for the right spot, whiff punishing normals with his stupid scissors kick super, leaping around always hitting me with his dart kicks and you can see why I hate him. I need to know how to defend against his BS. I’m using Ken (where are the good pokes?) and Charlie, and if theres any specific moves that counter his I’d like to hear them.

I’m using a Hori EX2 360 stick, which works great for ST and Garou, but seems to be a lot less sensitive in SFA2. I’m having trouble hitting supers consistantly, and the first mistake I make is punished greatly. Is this game just a lot more strict with inputs than ST and Garou, or am I losing my mind?

you should probably just go straight to ggpo instead of playing the cpu. the ai opponent builds bad habits.

We all know that’s def. true, but I am sticking to offline so I can provide some sort of challenge to the guys who’ve been playing forever. No one wants to fight a scrub.

thats nonsense… just get in there and play… im new to this game myself and ive been getting my ass handed to me, but everyone is helpful and try to teach… well some of the people i was playing anyway…

you should try looking for a user named Crono on GGPO, he has a decent adon and usually plays very long sets…

do you think when VS came out on ggpo, everyone practiced offline first? no, they jumped in,figured out shit, and traded tips, you’ll have much more fun playing online getting your ass beat, than playing the AI…
