He was a known quantity before EVO Japan, as he did completely destroy Knee in a tournament in Dubai late 2018. He definitely wasn’t a household name / contender for best player on the planet though.

If SF4 didn’t existed, MK9 will bring out an SF4 and would still be successful. MK9 isn’t a terrible MK game. 2008 was nostalgia year everything retro, (you got instagram and etc remakes) and even SF4 was initially planned to be SF2 3D edition. I mean Sf4 would do a better job but if it did not exist MK would lead next than the rest since the others were just a bunch of arena fighters and anime fighers that is to different demographic.

I think people forget how much of an impact online play and streaming had on making fighting games more popular around the sf4 era. Now you can sit at home and say how washed up daigo is in twitch chat and not even play the game yourself lol

3 is the best Halo gtfo
3 has good maps… but the gunplay is probably the worst in the series. The removal of hitscan makes a lot of the guns frustratingly random. How many BR hits does it take to get to the center of a Spartans skull? The world may never know.
I should qualify I don’t like BTB that much so I’m biased, but H3 probably has the Best BTB.
That said, the only Halo multiplayer I consider anything below excellent is reach. Broken armor abilities and lots of bad maps is not a good combo.

I got so many fond memories from reach I just can’t rate it any lower.
Couch co op legendary campaign was absolutely fucking epic it terms of fun and hilarity. And we wrecked shit in online multiplayer. I fucking love Reach, not sorry.
