SF5 Lounge: Idom Wins. Only Poison is Woman enough for Capcom Cup

Alex v-skill is leagues better than his previous one. People seriously hating on a store that lets him do shenanigans when the old one would get used up at random?

The fact that alex can store and then probably do Chop xx elbow or other random shenanigans is crazy useful for him.

I want to see the chip, combo damage and block advantage for Blanka’s, but looks like a buff to me.

No really Im just doing realky survey as usual and concern on how other perceived different mechnics.

Most of my question with that isn’t about what is right and wrong. There is no right and wrong answer. Im concern on what went wrong. Im doing this most of the past thread. Opinions should differ from different kind of consumer. Thank you man.

But with that startup does it matter?

Maybe he can control the range ala Necalli?

The example Capcom gives are trash.

Can’t wait for the salt when Alex players start doing chop into EX stomp mix ups.

Capcom really knows how to get me to throw this game in the trash.

Any vskill that you have to store and goes away on hit on a character with no fucking defense is wack dont @ me.

Am I gonna end up doing the same combo over and over just with different initial hits?

I did that in S4 then Capcom went and took away my main pressure tool in the patch notes.
I am already preparing myself to wonder why Capcom hates me so much after we get to see the CE patch notes.

Startup didn’t seem too bad. That’s why I’m curious bout the block advantage for knockdowns.

Edit: But seriously, fucking lol at Kage getting a fuck fireballs vskill. Rip guile, Sagat bad matchups :joy:

It kinda makes some sense for him actually as he has almost no neutral presence.

I’m more worried about a character like Kolin getting one.

Weird Kage new Vskill?

I always liked shout the earth.

Kolin would definitely be top tier status if her 2nd vskill was good and gave fireball bypass.

Capcom may actually do it too lol.

Yeah it’s allows for Oki confirms from lights now with ex meter which is SUPER good for him.

They have to be buffing vt1 or it’s completely useless

It seems Capcom are answering people’s calls for defensive options with many of these v-skills, but also giving characters more tools for their gameplan.

I am going to assume that if a character has an offensive V-skill now, they will likely get an offensive or utility V-skill for the other.

PSYCHO WARP!!!

I actually expect it as it’s just to obvious.

If she gets a useable anti fireball VS2 and nothing else she would be solidly in the lower top tier (Karin, birdie, Bison). However, if they take a bit of venom out of VT2 (and I hope they do) maybe not.

That’s my wish, nerf VT2 (make it 3 bars for example), and buff her standard kit a bit. She is in a solid spot balance wise already.

Smash is a real fighting game. It’s got Ken Masters from the Street Fighter series and Terry from the Fatal Fury series. It has footsies and AA DP too.

Balthier is the leading man of this story.

Also it’s a main group, it’s more like the FFVI crew, just smaller less diverse and with Vaan there to have a slightly less annoying Tidus with less personality… however that was possible.
Also Viera asses, FFXII wins over most for that reason alone

I suspect Kage’s VS2 they show is when he has VT1 active. I’ll need to see them and test them after the s5 balance patch.

I really like Kage’s VS1 + VT1 as it gives him the ability to make some ground in neutral, but his VS1 isn’t great (IMO) outside of VT1. VS2 would be good against Fireball zoners, but VS1 may be the better choice against everyone else (including Sim and Menat).

Also, Blanka’s looks decent, better than VS1 to me, but again, will need to see more. I do know some Blanka players VS1 for some shenanigans, but I never found much use for it.

If he can use this with regular specials its good. If not its garbo but still better than VT1.

A lot of things play like a fighting game that aren’t. MOBAs have hella footsies when you’re fighting over creep control. If you have a contest where spacing matters in a video game, you’re going to have a lot of the elements of footsies.

The smash issue is that they took a game, came up with 50 rules for it, stripped out a bunch of stuff for it and called it a fighting game. That’s a ballpark that the FGC didn’t really fuck with. FGC plays the games as is, sometimes we needed rules for the sake of games functioning (MvC2 has a lot of glitches and random shit that would make it unplayable wtihout concessions i.e. dead body infinites) but it tries to keep it as intact as possible. Smashers did a 180 on that and basically hammered at it until they could come up to us and say they made a fighting game.

Sakurai definitely took a lot from fighting games. Man obviously loved them. But he wanted a similar gameplay in a completely different context and purpose; kind of like Megaman X throwing hadoukens. Smash is fighting gamey enough to where I could sit with family and friends and feel like it made sense to me, but then an absolute wondrous, joyous mess of randomness and politicking that fighting games cannot do.

Sakurai made something new and its awesome. Then the smash scene took a giant poop on all that; then after they were done doing that, spent the rest of the time crying at the creator telling him what kind of game he made. Then the evo entertained this idea so now, instead of Chen and Seth crying about how awesome FGs are as the last broadcast for Evo, we got two numbnuts who don’t care saying “lol that’s all folks, good night”.

Smash scene in the FGC has been the biggest and most hilarious L ever.

Kages vskill2 looks like it was powered up in that clip by vtrigger1 activation…
