SF5 Lounge: Idom Wins. Only Poison is Woman enough for Capcom Cup

Lol, I wish. The guy’s Mom would’ve hooked us up.

Thinking back, I actually owe a lot to that guy. He got me both into SF2 and MK (and countless other games) as well as hip-hop. Dude was bumping 36 Chambers when it came out and we were like 7-8?

I grew up in a predominantly white neighbourhood so I hadn’t heard anything like that before, and that was well before it was cool to listen to hip-hop, which in my age group/area seemed to have started when Wu-Tang’s Triumph came out.

I remember my classmates playing the OG GG on psx and all they bother is trying to hit each other with destroyers.

They want me to play that game with them, So I was left alone playing A3 World Tour and FF8 on the PSX rental shop where you pay for an hour rate. I don’t own a PSX during that time.

By the looks of it they have tons of fun, but I didnt see that fun, I just like the design of the characters. My first GG was GGx…

I started playing GG cause Slayer looked like a boss and did stupidly high damage. :joy:

So at some point in this match against Ryu, he knocks me down, dashes forward, I react with a throw, he dashes back, and still manages to punish me with a st.HK

I know that back dashes have throw inv but goddamn

Just take the throw. Trying to stop stupid shit that happens on knockdown that allows Ryu to dash is fruitless.
Hold down back and just take the throw. The Ryu will look like a complete idiot when he tries to do a setup.

Hard to take the throw when I’m below 30 HP :man_shrugging:

If you’re going for a throw read then waking up buttons works too. If there’s an L to take and it’s unavoidable then we take those.

You have a 3f. If you gotta wake up with something, wake up with 3f.

Not with G

Just… how did Ryu get in and managed to knock you down when you were playing G?

Hard to know for sure on a japanese article. Could go either way tbh.

I find it weird that they would treat Strive like a spinoff due to all the hype machine behind it and they have a history of big system changes between series. (Again, not to this extent.)

Daisuke may or may not have been drunk too. So many inconsistencies…

I have a couple theories, but I don’t want to remember this MU.

Fuck G’s body slam aerial. Reverse Axe Kick’s nerf.

Because I dont play perfectly? It’s not like it’s impossible to lose to a character just because he sucks lol

Is there any FIGHTING game that made one hit kill made sense and successful game mechanic that has depth on it?

Im not counting bushido blade on this. I mean 2D.

Man I feel it something like a joke. To be honest that it needs to be spam to hit.
