I gotta say, I’m loving that Sirlin Fighter is getting bashed here because I’m translating an article of his for college and it’s being way more of a pain in the ass than I expected it to be.

I remember smash has that thing where you can roll as soon as you hit the ground
Yeah, its actually a little complicated but basically, you only have any invul during a neutral tech, you are fully vulnerable on the ground or during rolls and the like.
They also both have a quick/emergency tech that you can do as soon as you hit the floor in most situations.

On my end its all first impressions. Doesnt help that I’m trying to play the game against people who’ve been playing it for almost 2 years.
There’s 10 characters and a whole lot of bragging about balancing though. I’ll do the masochist and keep playing until I get a better sense of the game. Pretty curious as to how it sold though.

They have a consistent yet stupid pattern from what I can tell.
Monday: Show three characters and their v skills through PlayStation.
Tuesday - Thursday: Show a more in-depth look at the characters once a day.
Friday - Sunday: Nothing
I may be wrong and they end up showing nothing next week.
Imagine the big announcement at Capcom Cup was showing the rest of the V skills.

Along with the sixth(Seth)? That would be pretty cool. But I’m fully expecting Capcom to do these v-skill showcases all the way till February.
I’m really hoping the last character isn’t Seth. I never enjoyed him as a character in IV.
That said, I’m pretty happy with the current cast in V.

If the last character really is Seth I want Capcom to go full troll mode with his introduction.
Reveal trailer starts and it’s a low res model of some highly requested character like Rose who starts talking only to be sucked up into a vortex off screen. Then the camera pans to the Tandem Engine and up to Seth who is laughing at the camera. Rest of the video showing his moves has him beating up on some high tier so we know he’s SSS tier when he drops
If they want to go full troll, give seth only Blanka’s moves.
I low key want them to update Seth with the most ridiculous bullshit this game got.
Give him EX DR.

SFV has a good roster, it’s just that gameplay variation isn’t really there.
