SF4PC - Honda lag & cross overs

I’ve noticed online it seems like whenever I get someone corner trapped with my Honda like clockwork against shoto’s mainly I get a momentary freeze right as they escape and hit a cross-over.

Not trying to QQ but are people using lag buttons or is Honda a lost cause online against faster characters?

Is it just me or does Oicho always whiff on Ken no matter what?

What are more successful Honda players doing to mitigate lag cross over escapes?
I’m missing something because I’m not having the same issues during local play.

it would probably be best to ask the other 2 people playing sf4pc.

No need to be a prick, your PS3 still broke or did your fifth 360 RROD this morning?

Oh quick let me go spend $300 on faulty hardware so I can be a elitist douchebag to.

???

Unfortunately, that’s just something you’ll have to deal with online. It’s not really something that can be prevented.

Many players online will use whatever advantage they can to win, especially if that advantage is hard to detect. So in an online environment where lag occurs often, utilizing a lag switch of some kind is probably more common than some people think.

Thanks, just wasn’t sure if this was actually going on or not.

Generally, lag switches are rare. You can’t lag an opponent without lagging yourself. Run over a check list on your own end first.

  1. Are you on wireless? Wireless connections, even at point blank, are notorious for momentary spurts of lag.
  2. Do you have anyone else on your network? Do they watch a lot of movies or torrent a lot?
  3. Are you torrenting, downloading, et cetera in the background?
  4. Are you running any conflicting programs in the background? I get bad hits of lag when I have Google Chrome with active Flash assets beside my SFIV window.

Another problem might also be not having a fixed framerate, or if your PC isn’t capable of running SF4 at 60 FPS on your current graphical settings.
