@MrMoon I did the replacement, works fine. I personally believe it’s the button that in bad.
Hi everyone.
After buying and modding a SE, I soon had the usual defect RT/LT buttons and every now and then the “Please reconnect controller” message would pop up. But now it’s getting worse : I got SSF4 yesterday, been playing a few hours and my stick is having all sorts of trouble : getting stuck in a direction, “please reconnect controller”, and defect RT button much more often than usual. Any tips on fixing that would very much appreciated.
So I replaced my stick with a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK, and all inputs work except for up and left. What could it be? I think one of the PCB pins came a little bent to the side, but that shouldn’t cause such problems, should it?
EXACTLY the same problem here…dosent matter if its plugged into 360 or PC = no left or right movements :annoy:
got the stick last summer and modded right away to avoid problems …
have you had any luck since your post?
**I bought my first ever stick a few days ago the SE Stick.
I played with it a lil bit and it’s pretty fun, after the first day i’ve never played with it cause i’m being cautious with it.
Should I wait to play with it until I mod it with Sanwa Joystick and Semetsu buttons I ordered?
Like will it break if I play with it and swapping out parts wont help?**
I bought an SE on day one since all the pre-orders were taken plus i live in Canada…but nothing had happened to it, works great with the stock parts and i play on it regularly. Though I only recently replaced the buttons and stick with sanwas just to match my other 2 (MvC2 TE & TE:S) so that my friends don’t complain on using a “bad” joystick lol.
Now I’ve tried swapping but my LT and RT buttons for the SF4 SE fight stick but dont respond still, since that didnt work I went back to some old buttons I had(still didnt work)…so Im assuming its not the actual button but the wiring that its connected to is questionable.
What Im thinking is, how should I go about replacing these wires?soldering?IDK
After using it for a day, downback became an unusable direction and as a Guile player that’s unacceptable. My HRAP EX is even less responsive: It stopped working altogether after just nine months of use. Is it me, or is Mad Catz and Hori inept at making the one thing they’re supposed to excel in? Frustrating.
Sorry to dig this back up, but do the SE PCBs generally have more or less problems than the TE PCBs? Do they suffer from the RB/RT problems that the TE seems to have? I’m trying to decide on which one I should get for a custom joystick I plan on building and need one that’s very reliable.
anyone had twisty buttons? also sometimes if i just rest my finger on the LK button (also A button) it can go off, it also feels like it sticks a lil, i’ll just buy some sanwa buttons and swap them out, stick seems fine other then it seems a lil small
the X button on mine is twisty and its half-assing on me when im playing BB
I honestly think they are ripping people off with the prices of these sticks $80 for knockoff parts that barely work out of the box and won’t last past 1 week of good play
reading the first few pages i gotta feel very lucky. i got a refurbished one on ebay and its working great.
Worth The Trouble of Getting it Modded?
Hello everyone, My brother brought me the FightStick for my graduation present, and it been working fine, been using it to play SF3 and Melty Blood on PC, and SFIIDR, KOF95, and Garou on my brother’s 360. However about a week later, I thought it stopped working, because when i was playing SF4 on PC, I couldn’t move, but i was at fault for putting the stick on the RS setting… But after that i had no issues with the stick. Later on this month i been noticing that the buttons started sticking. Mainly when i started doing the Trials on SSFIV (this is my 360), I had issues linking LP and LK chains all because it would stick after the 2nd or 4th press. But the Main Button that is giving me the flux is my HK. Half the time it never comes out, Which is why i can’t punish whiffs with an ultra or spinning Lariat. its like i have to actually use a Heavy attack to make the Heavy button work.
I wanted to mod my stick a while back but now i’m starting to question is it worth it. From the stories i have been hearing, Everyone says the Seimistu and the Swana buttons where better anyway, however I dont want to order them if I am having problems with inputs on YET again these Faulty MadCatz products (Money wasted on those psone controllers… Sorry Mom). But what do you guys think? Is it just the crappy buttons, or the controller itself?
its piss poor quality regardless
IF i spent $60-$80 on a damn box of plastic I expect it to work
Hell DS3 controllers are what $40-$50 and they last longer even after dropping them several times
But this bullshit SE stick is likely to stop working after the first 20minutes of play
I’d expect more bang for my buck instead of something that breaks easier than an xbox 360
I have a Round 1 SE stick and it keeps on disconnection from the console at random times or during movement. I hear that the PCB’s are very crappy. This has been more than a year through mashing buttons after I replace them. I check the inside and I move around the certain cords but no avail Anyone else has this problem before? Should I just gut it out and put the Paewang Revolution PCB?

I have the same problem a few in this thread have mentioned - the stick no longer works at all, but the buttons are fine. I replaced all the buttons and the stick about four months ago, and this is the first time I had any real problems since then. I’ve double-checked the insides, everything is wired up properly, and I also can’t get any other sticks to work with it. Reckon it’s a problem with the PCB, obviously, but is there any quick or easy way to fix it?
You can try contacting Madcatz, I am getting a PCB from them.
First, check the LS/DP/RS slider. You want DP.
Then replug the cord into the stick because the original SE connect was a piece of crap made for an entirely different header.
And use hot glue this time so it stays.
Just wanted to add. At the moment i hate this stick, lol. First the buttons are sticky/get stuck. I will have to either sand them down so that they don’t stick or swap with new sanwas. The biggest thing that irks me is that i tried to replace the stock stick with a LS32-01, where it’s supposed to drop in when you rotated the mounting plate sideways and fit. Unfortunately whoever was drilling this F**ked up and all of the left and right side holes are significantly smaller and have virtually no threading, so now i can’t use any screws on it. sigh…
I have a Madcatz SE Fightstick. The standard one. The RT/LT buttons stop responding, and if you turn the xbox off, the Xbox guide button is still on. Unplugging the joystick and plugging it back in fixes the problem for a short time, until it goes out again during the middle of a match. Is there any way to fix this?
